Highly recommended, highly entertaining and insightful! Tom & Satan, the poodle, are a must-meet anytime, especially when youâre in Salem.
I had a good feeling about this for several reasons prior to the tour: Iâd found out about this tour via Instagram (@ghoul_please & @childrenofthenight9) and Todd was helpful to direct me to the proper walking tour websites. Fast-fwd to this weekend- the night before Friday the 13th and another busy Salem weekend in October. âThe Googleâ had shown the meeting place just slightly off from where he actually was, and Tom called us, and every other person signed up for the tour who wasnât present, to make sure we werenât lost or if we needed to reschedule, which he didnât have to do but we certainly appreciated!
Tom proved that his walking tours are some of the best and most entertaining you can get. Heâs also a great neighbor and considerate to the people around him. Heck, even neighbors on their porch came out and emphatically cheered âhail satan! đ¤đ¤Passing cars who stopped to cajole he took in stride and continued without skipping a beat. He displayed a great knowledge of local lore as well as history and his delivery is just fun. I can go on but honestly, check out his tour and see on your own. You wonât regret it!
See you and Satan next time weâre in town, Tom. :) sorry I was too busy enjoying the tour to...
Read moreAs someone who previously knew next to nothing about the history of Salem, I can highly recommend this tour. Thomas and his little dog Satan were so nice and made me feel very welcome and comfortable. The tour was a really interesting and refreshing look into what life in Salem was actually like at the time of the witch trials. Doesn't waste your time with superstition or intrigue, but it isn't anti-religion either, which I appreciated. I think any open-minded person of any religion would enjoy this tour. After it ended I couldn't wait to text my family and tell them about all the cool stuff I learned. It's an hour and a half tour and not too physically demanding. I was a lil worried about that because I had some knee pain this week but I was fine. No big hills or stairs. Important advice for non-Americans: remember to take cash with you to tip your tour guide! I always forget about tipping when I'm in the states and I felt like such a dumbass. You are going to want to tip at the end because this tour is excellent. Also if you wanna take a picture along the tour do be mindful of people walking around who might get confused and think you're pointing the camera at them. Anyhow, thank you so much Thomas for showing me around today! I'm so glad I decided to go on the Satanic Salem...
Read moreI am so glad we found this tour and it has stuck with me as the highlight of my trip to New England. You should pretty much know exactly what you're in for by the name alone (its what draws most of us in!) But his website also gives more information about what to expect. I think this is the first walking tour of anything that I've ever done and I think I am ruined for them forever thanks to Tom, apparently his style is quite different from most others but I think that is probably what I enjoyed most - this was a truly unique experience. I appreciated how honestly he spoke about his life, his experiences here, and his knowledge of the history of it all. All of this peppered in with plenty of sarcastic humor and jokes to lighten the mood which never once felt gimmicky or disrespectful. I've already recommended this tour to many people and will continue to do so. Would do it again if I am lucky enough to find myself there once more! Thanks Tom - blessings and good health to you and...
