We have visited this restaurant on two nights in a row on May 25th and 26th. First night we were served by Andre G and the experience was disaster. Even the food was good, Andre G had no clue what he was doing, he had to read daily specials from the piece of paper and got it wrong. We ordered risotto special and lobster cavatelli but he brought brodetto adriatic and lobster cavatelli. We also ordered a cocktail, one of the cocktails from the bar menu but he did not know what that was and was never brought to the table but we got charged for it and I had to dispute. Also I ordered a glass of Gavi twice and had to wait about 15 minutes for each glass of wine to be brought to the table. At the end Andre G. did not even bother to apologize to us for overcharging us. Following night we decided to give restaurant a second chance and when we saw Andre cruising around I requested a female server. Kathryn was much better. She knew the specials of the top of her head, even they were exactly the same as last night. She also apologized up-front for some items from the menu not be available due to holiday weekend. Food was delicious but the problem was the speed of service. I asked for some balsamic vinegar glaze to be brought together with my Burrata Caprese but came way after I already finished my starter. I also ordered a shot of Campari on rocks to have it before the meal but also came after we finished starters. Wines again, the same story. We ordered Sortori PN and Gavi but came almost 20 minutes after we ordered. I mentioned that to Katryin and she apologized for being short on staff at the bar. Second glass of Sontori PN, again the same story. 15 minutes to be served. I was seating facing the bar and could see there was only one bartender, very young, serving guests sitting at the bar and getting drinks for the servers. He was, obviously now well trained on cocktails and his service was way, way too slow. Food in general was very good and tasty. Authentic Adriatic cuisine from Croatian and Italian coasts, prepared very good but problem was the server, first night, and speed of service, especially drinks. For example, Opus lounge had 5 bartenders for about the same number of guests with virtually no waiting time to get the drinks. Get rid of that Andre G, because he is can't be a server (but could be a bus boy, for example), hire two more trained bartenders and speed up the service to have top notch performance as this place...
Read moreFirst, they lost our reservation. Since we had asked the person with whom we made the reservation for his name, we shared his name; he asked if we had called twice and made two separate reservations; then he blamed the system; we said that people make mistakes, and he finally admitted that it had been very busy. No big deal, really. Things happen. We each ordered lamb chops, medium rare. They came well done. We both were hungry, so one of us opted to eat the overcooked lamb chops. The other did not. After a considerable wait, our wonderful waiter, Ben, returned with the replacement lamb chops. They were completely raw (bloody) inside. He apologized. After another considerable wait, the third lamb chops were presented, and they were fine, though the one of us who hadn’t eaten anything yet asked to keep the vegetables (after the second food presentation) so she could eat something, and her vegetables were long gone by the time the third set of lamb chops arrived. The third time, the lamb chops were served solo on a plate, without any garnish whatsoever (no big deal, but really?). The first diner had finished eating quite a while before the second diner got her lamb chops. Because we waited so long, we ordered a second round of drinks, which we normally do not have. After the meal, the manager comped us the second round of wine. We think he should have comped us the whole meal. Our waiter was great. Eating outdoors is lovely. The food was improperly prepared, and the chef was clearly having a rough evening. The manager should have made it right. I’m surprised. We’ve lived in Salem for decades, and we have never experienced this poorly cooked food or this kind of penny-pinching from any restaurant in town. We can’t believe the owner...
Read moreFirst our waitress was very slow ! We waited 30 minutes to get in ..We get it it’s busy no problem when we got in, we sat for another 10 to 12 minutes before our waitress even came over to us to ask us if we even wanted a drink. We ordered our drinks at $15 a whack at least give us the same size glass three of us ordered the House sangria, they literally got the drink in the normal size wine glass three times bigger than the three of our glasses when we ordered the martini not even in a martini glass twice as smaller than a martini glass and charged us $15 for that insult now we get our food. My husband ordered the chicken parm literally gave him a tablespoon of pasta. That was it for $30. A plate. Pastor literally is $.99 at Market Basket. You can give at least a normal portion of pasta not just a plate of chicken. They gave me a pinch of spinach with my salmon never seen a place so cheap, but then have no problem overcharging for prices very insulted will never ever go back. Our waitress also said to us when we ordered our drinks, I will do my best not to drop them or spill them meaning the martinis I pacifically responded with if you drop a martini on me, you should find another job who says that she came over with the house first had to go back to the Martini because she didn’t want to drop them really I don’t think that’s the job for her maybe find other one so you don’t drop drinks on no one our bill was $353.48 The portion sizes of the drinks was totally a rip off. They gave my friend literally a shot glass of his martini, a little bit bigger than a shot Not even a normal size glass and it was half full. I told him to send it back. He didn’t wanna cause a problem so he just left it. Horrible,...
