5 Stars â Velvet & Vein in Salem MA Is a Darkly Elegant Treasure Trove
Velvet & Vein is absolutely everything I was hoping forâand more! I spent way too much money there, but Iâm seriously thrilled with the treasures I walked out with. đ
Stepping inside felt like walking through a doorway to a sculptorâs lair where jewelry meets gothic artistry. The aesthetic is dark luxury at its finestâthink bold shapes, moody gemstones, highâimpact accessories, and elegant craftsmanship. They carry everything from sterling silver designs by brands like Alchemy of England and Rare Romance to carved bone & antler pieces, leather bracelets, stainless steel chainsâyou name it, itâs all impeccably curated in striking, powerfully interesting styles ďżź.
What really sold me was the vibe and the staff. The gentleman helping me was so friendly and helpful, offering styling suggestions and explaining the unique materials and inspiration behind each piece. His enthusiasm honestly made my shopping experience a highlight.
Every item I tried on felt specialâfrom tiny rings to statement necklaces, all carrying a subtle dark edge that perfectly fits Salemâs magical mood. I walked out with rings and necklaces that I adore, and I canât wait to wear them all.
Plus, Velvet & Vein is woven into Salemâs local artisan communityâcurated by Vampfangs, and stocked with pieces that feel like wearable art. They even carry ethically sourced carved bone jewelry and bold designs made for the darkest of darlings ďżź.
If youâre visiting Salem and want a jewelry store with real personalityâmodern edge, unique artistry, and warm human serviceâVelvet & Vein should definitely be on your list. Five glowing starsâIâll absolutely be...
Read moreThe jewelry there is gorgeous and itâs a very nice shop. Unfortunately a few weeks ago I was sold two âsterling silverâ rings that were in fact not sterling silver. They were stamped â925â and looked sterling and also were both 40 dollars so I believed it. I had handed them off to my friend who is a very talented jeweler to size them for me as they were to big. It was then that he made the discovery that they were some sort of other metal with a cheap plating. As a jewelry salesperson myself It is absolutely unacceptable to sell jewelry labeled and marketed as sterling silver if they are not sterling silver. Plated jewelry should not be stamped 925. It should not have been marketed as Sterling silver and instead plated. Iâm very disappointed in this shop for false marketing. The staff and owners should know where they get their jewelry and what itâs made of. Clearly they donât as they told me it was sterling and there were signs...
Read moreI was directed here by my tour group and it wasnât worth the stop. The place was dark, stuffy, and smelled of weed, more like a basement hangout than a shop for art or jewelry. The staff barely looked up from their phones, and when they did it was with the air that I was interrupting. I donât need a red carpet, but basic acknowledgment would have been nice. The jewelry was interesting, but I bought from the artists directly and told my tour group to do the same. With October coming, the staff should be reminded this is a store, not...
