I know it is close to Christmas, but everyone knows retail gets busy this time of year. An associate today, I BELIEVE her name was Tiffany was very rude today. She was in the men's department and was wearing a red shirt and has red hair. She was waiting on two customers and chit chatting about nose and lip piercings. We waited patiently in line for our turn, socially distanced from the other customers. She had a sign out stating that she was closed, but we couldn't see that. During her conversation that had absolutely nothing to do with ringing up items, she never bothered to tell us she was closed. When we walk up to the counter she says, "sorry, I'm closed." I respond, "ok, no problem" then she proceeded to tap her sign and say "yeah, sign right here." If I wasn't getting gifts for my son, all that merchandise would have sat right in that store!! It wasn't much, but I'm sure no retailer wants to lose $116.55. I couldn't believe how she said yeah sign right here. Absolutely plain rude. This was the Salisbury, MD location. My children are getting gift cards for Christmas and I'm seriously considering taking them to the Dover, DE location after the way I was treated today. I don't want a generic reply back about emailing corporate with the location and asking for my name and number. You have my name here and I am reviewing the Salisbury location. #1 rule of retail is treating the customer right, and she was definitely WRONG today. All she had to say was that she was closed and leave it at that. I guess she's allowed to pick and choose who she rings up. We ended up checking out in the shoe department and the lady there was VERY nice and kind. I didn't get her name, but she was wearing a necklace with Christmas lights on it. We were at the store around noon or a little after. I don't expect any discipline to take place or even for the lady in shoes to get a compliment, because that rarely happens, but I wanted to make sure that Boscovs and other potential customers know just how rude some of the associates there can be. I have a friend who worked here years ago and she said it was a nightmare. Today I got a small glimpse of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday we were shopping at Boscovs in Salisbury md. We had our not even three month old child with us and my partner was in line at checkout at register 50 and a associate by the name of Dara Donovan was just carrying away at placing tags on products at the register while we were right in front of her not even 3 feet away with two arms full of clothes and myself with the stroller. My partner then proceeded to speak up and say āso you are going to make eye contact with me not say anything walk away to put product on a hanger and come back when you see me with product waiting in line at a registerā
When Mrs Dara (mind you name tag was flipped and hidden from view- more on this later on) heard us she said oh i was busy ill check you out (with a attitude) and proceeded to slam the items on the counter each scan and then proceed to tell me with more attitude ātake your card out its not that advanced then put it backā didnt ask for phone number or anything and im a veteran as well and a we are a boscovs card holder (no chance to use it).
Then as soon as we were done we started to walk away and she tried to as well and another customer had to chase her down to get help and she was reluctant. So i came back to her and asked her what her name was she said verbatim āwhy do you want it⦠its Dā¦Aā¦.Rā¦.A can you put that togetherā i said āyes dara whats your last name she said its donovan want anything else tooā
She was completely utterly rude and if she does that to a younger couple with a baby how would she treat just a single individual or even someone else just in all.
This make us never want to come back only because she had to empathy no apology no nothing we were a inconvenience to her. We are both managers at two different customer service locations and this would not fly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAlthough I agree with most reviewers regarding pricing and selection, I am sorry to say that it has become more and more difficult for me to shop at Boscov's store in Salisbury, MD. As a disabled individual, who uses an electric mobility scooter, I have found that over the past 2 years, the aisles at Boscov's have gotten narrower and narrower, to the point that I either cannot go into the aisle or I cannot turn around once I am in it. Aside from being a clear violation of the American's with Disabilities Act (ADA), it is embarrassing being unable to shop and peruse products as my able-bodied friends and family do. There has also been times when I nearly knocked over displays, which would have caused injury to me or damage to the display products.
Even more dismaying to me was the response I received from the store manager when I complained about the situation last year. What he said was, "Well, I need as much space I can get to display items, and if you sue us, then we might just have to close this location and the mall will lose an anchor store." Since last year, the aisles have gotten much worse. Over this past Christmas shopping season, I had to leave the store because I couldn't get through most shopping aisles, except for the main aisles through the store.
There aren't a lot of department stores in Salisbury that match the price, quality and variety of Boscov's, so losing Boscov's would not be good for our community. However, Boscov's needs to review it's layout and understand that it is eliminating an entire segment of the shopping public, thereby losing more than they are making by making the aisles more filled...
