BLUF: Hit or miss experience with higher than average Pokemon prices on sealed products.
I've been to this shop three different times and wanted to wait to leave a review before having multiple experiences at the store. A part of the reason I did this is the shop has highlighted that they have different members run the shop throughout the week.
Out of those three visits, I've had one poor experience where the member running the shop was a poor communicator and more interested on being on his phone than helping me find a product I wanted.
Second experience was neutral. The store was a little busier and all the members at the counter were pretty busy, but they said hello when my wife and I walked in and tried to help us when they had time.
Third experience was also neutral. Went looking for a Black Bolt or White Flare ETB when they first released. TCG Player/Market price had the ETBs at $90, but TCG Croma was selling them for over $100. I acknowledge that every store has their right to sell cards and sealed products at whatever price they choose to do so, but to sell over an already inflated market price is always a bummer to see.
I haven't experienced any of their trade nights or TCG league nights, so my review is solely based on customer experience (which has been less than stellar), as well as their pricing for Pokemon products (which has been consistently higher than market price).
Happy to see other folks enjoy this shop, but I will prioritize going to other TCG shops that I think are better priced and better staffed such as Kayfable in Riverton, Trove of Collectables in Clinton, or Icy Society in Chinatown SLC (right down the street from TCG Croma).
Response to Owner - I was just in your shop to validate your claim (August 9th at 1315), I asked for the price for Mega Brave booster box and I was quoted $102 for the box. I suggested that market price shows at $91 on TCG player (attached screenshot for reference) and was told, “sorry that’s what we have it priced at”.
I’m updating my rating to one that you’ve claimed to be at market rate, so I gave the shop another chance to see if that claim is true, and have pushback when I suggest the price is rated differently than what you claim your store operates at. Happy to jump on a call and discuss this misrepresentation of your claims on...
Read moreThis is such a great space for all the TCG and claw arcade lovers. Croma TCG and Clawzone had their grand opening last weekend and it was so fun to see everyone that loves Pokemon attend and geek out together. I know that Kenny and Dan do such a great job with the TCG community here in Utah and it's so cool that they have a location in the heart of SLC! I will definitely be back with friends and family! The staff is so great, the shop is clean, and they have a good...
