I heard about the Pele's Fire sandwich from this place and stopped by to see if it lived up to expectations on the heat. It comes piled high with quality lean roast beef, along with mozzarella cheese, lettuce, and tomato, and it is also slathered with their signature Ghost Pepper Sauce which they claim “should make the Hawaiian Goddess proud”. Their fresh bread is definitely one of the stars of this sandwich, soft and yeasty with a pillowy interior and a homemade taste. But the Ghost Pepper Sauce is what I came for and it delivers on the heat. There is a nice tang from the Ghost Pepper sauce along with a good creaminess, a little bit of sweetness, and a peppery kick. And that burn hits right away! After the first bite, my mouth was on fire, and I wondered if I would be able to finish the sandwich. But I made it all the way through and I enjoyed it! I would put this above Fiery on my scale and creeping towards Insane, and this is for series spice lovers only. On a separate occasion, I tried the Turkey Chupacabra sandwich which is kicked up with a habanero-based sauce. That is a heck of a good turkey sammie and I would put it at Hot on my scale or maybe a bit higher. Consider it a warmup for the Pele's Fire, and if you can successfully tackle the Chupacabra you are ready for the next level. Just a note that this place gets really busy about noon and there is not a whole lot of parking, so plan your trip accordingly. But if you are looking for some heat, this is a good destination.

Jalapeno roast beef & soup of the day: Southwest corn chowder. The roast beef was tender and thin sliced the jalapeno cilantro lime sauce has a little heat but is well balanced in this creamy sauce. The fresh baked bread warm and toasty compliments this hearty sandwich perfectly. TRY THE CARROT CAKE!!!

I have lived in the area for many years and always wondered about this place that I never seemed to see be open. They are only open for lunch time on weekdays, so how could a business survive like that? Amazing sandwiches, that’s how. I visited this place for the first time recently and was shocked by the bustling business on the inside. At 12:30 I was easily the 20th person in line and the majority of the many tables were full! It’s a large space, though it doesn’t look like it from the outside - with plenty of indoor seating. If you want to sit outside, you can sit outside the taproom in the front! The menu is large and has toasted, spicy, and cold sandwiches in addition to pizzas and salads! The sandwich I had was incredible in taste, size, price, and structural integrity. The sandwich bun it comes on is strong enough to hold it all together and most importantly the contents do not slide out of the sandwich when you pick it up! I got the San Antonio cheesesteak which was absolutely amazing and I would definitely get again. My friend got the habanero turnkey which was also great and had a lot of flavor in addition to the heat, which was not overpowering. The sandwich was a great size - not too big - and only around 9$. I can’t wait to return to this place and continue to try their large menu of sandwiches because I am a sandwich lover and this place has a fantastic selection.

I work far northwest, and our team hosted a meeting near the Hemisfair, so I decided to order from Station Cafe. I placed the order by phone in the late afternoon one day before our meeting for approximately 13 people consisting of a sandwiches with specific requests based on individual needs, specific chips, and dessert. Upon arrival for pick up at 11:30, I was able to hop to the front of the line - order by phone pick up. Everything was ready and well packed. Gentleman that handed the large box with the entire order was very nice and I was in and out within about 7 minutes considering how busy they were really getting by this point. I set everything out on a table, and they nailed the order to the exact…kudos! It would have been awesome if they could have marked a name to each person’s order. Two other colleagues helped me organize it quickly, so we were able to setup in about 10 minutes. The sandwiches were a success. The bread was pillowy soft and each sandwich was nice and full of meats, cheese, veggies. The turkey pesto was my order and was absolutely amazing, with none of the ingredients overpowering one another. It was large enough to half it and bring the rest home for dinner. I highly recommend eating here and walking around afterward since it’s so close to La Villita and other fun places to visit. If we have another meeting in the area, I would definitely...
