Long story short, I felt discrimination here when dealing with a young sales associate. I came to shop here yesterday 11/18/2024. I was having a pretty good experience shopping until I was about to make a purchase. I came to a young lady at the nearest open register to the juniors dress section. I tried on 3 dresses and the one I ended up choosing to purchase had a tear/rip in the dress. I told the young lady "Hi, I want to take this dress but it's damaged right here. Can you offer me a discount for this?" She looks at the tear, doesn't respond, and continues to examine the dress all over. I follow up with, "Is that something you guys do here?" And she continues to look over the dress a few moments longer and says "Mmm... it's going to have to be full price." I said "Okay..? Is that because..?" She says "It has to be like 'damaged' 'damaged', you know? Like sometimes people are rough when they try on the clothes so yeah. This wouldn't be able to get a discount." I don't know if we were looking at the same dress because it was damaged. I told the lady "I didn't do this to the dress." But i feel like she was being hesitant and insinuating that I caused the damage myself in order to receive a discount. She referred me to Dillard's at North Star Mall. If I'm going to pay full price for a dress I'd rather it be perfect. When I got to North Star, I told them what happened, showed them this picture, and they were shocked that I was denied a discount. Only to find out that a manager is the one who will have the final say on if an item can even be discounted due to damage. By the way, the dress that I drove in traffic for was also damaged at the other location but this was acknowledged by the staff that the damage already existed. Of course these were the only 2 dresses in my size, in San Antonio. I mention this to show that the dress itself has issues and had nothing to do with me. Overall poor experience. If she wasn't sure, she should have called for a manager to ask, but she just denied me without speaking with a manager for whatever reason. No one is going to pay full price for a ripped dress. If it wasn't shipped to the store that way, you can't sell it that way. I'm sure it was marked down after I left. I wouldn't recommend this location. For some reason I'm not able to include my photos of the damaged dress, but I have...
Read moreWe stopped here for women's undergarments... Since it was our first time at this location, I asked where the undergarments were... Sissy (Hispanic female) showed us where the undergarments were, but we didn't realize how uncomfortable our shopping trip would be by asking her for help... She stayed with us the entire time, and we thought maybe she thought we were going to run out with the undergarments... Every corner I turned she was there... I literally would stop walking and she almost ran into the back of me... My husband couldn't even shop with me... At one point, my husband looked and shook his ahead in disbelief... I'm all for being helpful, but if the customer says they're fine then let them shop in peace... I tried to be nice, I even told her I wasn't used to anyone helping me pick out my undergarments except my husband... She laughed and said it's cause the ladies here are just so helpful.. My husband and I were appalled.. I stopped walking at one point and was doing the thinking motion... Sissy asked what I was thinking, if I was thinking about an outfit, what outfit was I thinking about... My husband and I we were definitely done... We cut our shopping trip short, paid for our items and left... For convenience we stopped here, but convenience isn't always best... I have never experienced this at any store... We will definitely not return to...
Read moreWARNING!! Do not come into this store within an hour of it closing because they treat it like a SWAT team closing in on the suspect. We came in to try on a few dresses for a wedding we were attending... expecting to spend a couple hundred dollars. We were literally yelled at by an older lady telling us her dressing room was closed. As we started to walk away she yelled across to us saying “ACTUALLY THE WHOLE STORE IS CLOSED... it’s 6 o’clock!” When actually it was 5:45. We went to another room where a lady was kind enough to let us try the dresses on. Once we were leaving the dressing room, a security guard was hustling us out of the store and we intended on buying one of the dresses. At this point in time it was 6:00pm exactly and ALL of the clerks shut down their registers and acted as if it was an inconvenience to take our money. This is one of the worst experiences I’ve had in retail. I get it, it’s sunday and they want to go home. I’ve worked in customer service for years, and if this company wants money out of people’s pockets, they better reevaluate their closing procedures. I actually turned to a lady on the way out and told her that this whole ordeal was very aggressive and uncomfortable and she laughed. Probably the last time I go to the Dillard’s at La Cantera!! If I could give my experience negative...
