If you’re looking for the heart and soul of San Antonio, Market Square Lot is the place to be! This vibrant hub of authentic Mexican culture is like stepping into a colorful mercado straight out of Mexico, with its endless rows of shops, lively atmosphere, and irresistible aromas wafting from nearby food stalls.

The shops are a treasure trove of Mexican merchandise—from hand-painted pottery and embroidered clothing to quirky souvenirs and traditional jewelry. Every turn feels like a little adventure, with so many unique finds that you’ll have to stop yourself from buying everything! (Spoiler: You’ll still leave with more than you planned.)

The atmosphere is electric, with mariachi music often filling the air and vendors who greet you with warm smiles and friendly conversation. Whether you’re shopping for the perfect keepsake or just soaking up the cultural vibes, Market Square Lot delivers a one-of-a-kind experience.

Pro Tip: Take your time and bring cash—many vendors offer deals you won’t want to pass up. And don’t forget to grab some authentic Mexican snacks while you’re there. A concha or some churros will keep your energy up as you explore.

Market Square Lot isn’t just a shopping destination—it’s a cultural fiesta that you’ll want to visit...

I was really looking forward to visiting Market square from all the reviews I read and while I did enjoy walking around the shops, because it's like a little piece of Mexico, everything is way overpriced. If you can't or don't want to visit Mexico you can find a lot of beautiful Mexican items here, but some things are marked 15x what you would pay for in Mexico or at other Mexican shops elsewhere. An agua de piña (pineapple water) was $10! I love all the bright beautiful colors and the trees around provide a lot of shade which is great for when it's hot and sunny. I was a little disappointed that most shop employees didn't give a friendly vibe honestly. I was there on a weekday so we didn't get to experience any shows, or entertainment. I would not go back myself but I can see why some would find this a cute...

And then nods in a "no" fashion with attitude. Im paying you regardless its not my fault youre working labor day. Fix the damn empllyees attitude. The...
