My husband and I are native San Antonioians we do not often get the chance to go down to Market Square a lot of times, frankly it's because there are way too many tourists. We ended up being there around lunch time on a Tuesday afternoon it wasn't busy we decided to go look for silver while we were on the way down there we decided to stop at Mi Tierra. The pan dulce, the bakery was wonderful as it always is. Now, there was a wait for a table but honestly it doesn't matter if you go when we went or at 2:00 in the morning on a weekend... this is a wonderful Mexican Tex-Mex restaurant... it is world famous! I think Bill Clinton even has a shirt from Mi Tierra that he wears when he jogs. We opted to sit in the bar and we were served an appetizer and we each ordered drinks . They were out of this world! In fact I remarked to my husband that this was one of the best times he and I had had together in a long time and it's not as if we have a bad marriage, it's just we were relaxed and we enjoyed the scenery. Mi Tierra is a certified San Antonio Tradition or as the locals would remark, it is Puro San Antonio...

I did not go to the Mariachi Bar to eat it was more for the bakery because I have heard good things about it. I loved the look inside but they did have a private security there so that made me feel uneasy so it means there is was trouble in this restaurant. I did not hear any mariachi playing but I saw them. Now on the deserts. They had many different ones but I feel that you could of got theses baked goods at any Mexican market that sells pastries. As you can see from my receipt I bought a few but there was a problem. Nothing with the restaurant but I had a couple of pastries when I got home and the next day I was not feeling well at all. I am not sure if it was the sugar but my legs were shaking and it did not stop for a couple of hours. After it stop I threw out the rest of the pastries. I hate wasting food but my health is more important then what I spent. All it all I would try to eat there next time to see what its like. Also good luck finding free parking because it was a pain but if you do not mind paying for parking then...

Last weekend we were in San Antonio with our friends and decided to stop at the bar and have a few drinks. From the start our waitress was rude and spoke to us in a condescending tone. It was especially noticeable considering she would partake in conversations with the tables around us with a smile, and brought all of their items to them quickly. We noticed she would take a while to refill our drinks after ordering, so I only ordered one. When my partner finally received his 3rd drink she set it down and said, “This is your last one. You can only have 3”. I understand if this is a restaurant policy, it would be advertised in the drink menu, but it isn’t. And it’s especially weird considering this is a “bar”. I immediately asked for the check, and it took her 25 minutes to drop it. It was frustrating because I saw her drop the check, and take the payment for the table right next to us. This waitress left a bad mark on all of our experiences. I guess the only upside to this experience is we left only...

Located inside the popular Mi Tierra restaurant, you wouldn't think the bar had it's own name, but it does. We took refuge here as we had an hour and fifteen minute wait for our table in the restaurant. Seating was scarce and the place packed on this Sunday afternoon, so I got in line to reach the bar as my wife covertly snagged two chairs at the bar. The 3-4 bartenders made quick work of the patrons in front of me and before I knew it I was wasting away in margaritaville! 🤪🍹 My wife decided to go with the Piña Colada and we both quickly forgot about our long wait. 2 delicious giant margaritas, an order or quesadillas, one and a half giant Piña Coladas, and two serenade songs later, and about $100 lighter, our table was finally ready. Pricey, yeah. Worth it, yes, we had fun. I was happier here than I was with the food at Mi Tierra. 🤷‍♂️
