A Highly Accessible and Comfortable Home I truly enjoy living here, primarily due to its exceptional accessibility. Being close to every major freeway in town is a huge plus, but what's even better is that I don't necessarily need a vehicle to get around. With two grocery stores less than two blocks away, daily errands are incredibly convenient. The neighbors are also very friendly, which contributes to a welcoming atmosphere. One of the biggest advantages of living here, especially with two special needs children, is the excellent soundproofing of the walls. My children can be quite loud at times, and I'm incredibly grateful that our neighbors have never complained. This peace of mind is invaluable. Minor Inconveniences and Building Management While I'm very satisfied with my living situation, there are a couple of minor issues. The windows haven't been cleaned in over four years, and the children's playground has been closed for several months. Additionally, the balcony requires regular cleaning due to its location above a major street, and the plumbing system isn't the best, requiring careful use to avoid issues. However, I view these as normal challenges when living in a large building. Safety and Community Dynamics Despite a noticeable homeless population in the area, I consider this a very safe place to live. The individuals are generally harmless and rarely cause problems. The cleaning staff does an excellent job of maintaining the cleanliness of the exterior, and the hired security effectively deters loitering. A church connected to the building at Market and 16th tends to cater to the homeless community, but this hasn't created any significant issues when entering or exiting the building from the front. Garage and Vehicle Policies When we've had a vehicle, the experience of coming and going through the garage was distinctly different, almost like living in a separate building. The garages are kept very clean, and the strict policies regarding vehicle storage and mechanical issues are appreciated. Cars with mechanical problems are not permitted until fully operational, and proper registration and parking permits are rigorously enforced. This ensures fairness for all residents and makes parking and quick access to apartments incredibly convenient. Overall, It's a wonderful place to live and I would call this a Low-rise apartment building on the edge of metropolitan San Diego. This would be an excellent place for anyone from families with small children, Students or single adults seeking a Studio or one bedroom as well as Seniors that can care for themselves.
