Sentral San Diego Gaslamp Quarter — Hotel in San Diego

Several issues. First, potentially a good location and room was brand new - we were first ever in the room. However: EXTREMELY noisy. Street noise at all hours of the night. Plus - 4pm to 11pm on Sat night, an Unbelievably Loud Concert at nearby Petco Park made it impossible to get to sleep, and I had a conf mtg the next day. I couldn't close the windows because the A/C + thermostat weren't working and that was never fixed during our stay. Also, internet was iffy. Shower water turned suddenly cold in the middle of a shower. Texts about problems were apparently not acted upon. Texts requesting toilet paper took far too long to be resolved. So, some of this is probably due to new staff and a new hotel. But I think there was a contract - I pay for a room and they provide a decent room where I can sleep in comfort. I held up my part.

On the Loud concert (so loud the bass at times made it impossible to hear the TV in the room): I called and complained several times. I was told once - Don't worry, concert will end at 10. Not true. Then noise continued as concert goers walked by making noise. And homeless people were yelling off-and-on all 3 nights. Some sort of loud sidewalk cleaning started well before dawn - also noisy. HOtel insisted they did all they could and checked on noise sources within the hotel after I complained. That clearly wasn't the issue.

So - they have a lot of work to do to deal with many problems. My suggestion to others - maybe find a different place. Do you want to sleep?

Upside - small kitchen and washer/dryer...

We had an absolutely amazing stay by Petco Park. From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless. Check-in was quick and easy thanks to Raymen, who set the tone for the entire trip with his professionalism and welcoming demeanor. The staff as a whole is truly outstanding—Juan from security went above and beyond making sure we felt safe and comfortable, always offering to help if we needed anything. John pointed us in the right direction for a great spot to grab drinks, which made our night so much smoother. And a special shoutout to Marco at valet—he was incredibly efficient, friendly, and made dealing with the car a complete breeze.

The hotel itself was just as impressive. The AC was ice-cold and refreshing, a lifesaver after walking around in the sun. Our room had a clean, modern look, and the spacious bathroom felt almost spa-like. They didn’t cut corners—extra pillows, detergent, soaps, makeup wipes—all the little details were covered. It was spotless and quiet, which made it feel like a private Airbnb but with hotel-level service.

The location couldn’t have been better—everything we needed was within walking distance, from restaurants to entertainment. The food and drink options nearby were fantastic, and we loved how accessible it all was. The rooftop patio with the firepit and BBQ only added to the great ambience.

If I could give negative stars I would. This place is a joke. $65 a night for a “valet only” option just for them to get my car stuck in the garage. Why would you build a parking garage that is fully dependent on a mechanical lift and not think maybe you should have a way to get the car out of it fails. I was late to my event and what if it had been an emergency. Despite the hotel being “New” there’s hardly anything “hotel” about this place. The description online is nothing like the property, there is nothing “state or art” about the small room they call a gym and the “rooftop terrace” overlooks the building next door. There seems to be no real management ever on property for you to speak to and there’s only one unknowledgeable person that you might be able to catch at the desk. There’s no phone in the room for you to reach the front desk, they do not provide any amenities as simple as a toothbrush and the water is cold and the pressure sucks! The PIN code method is a joke and a hassle especially if the system doesn’t work or you’re like me and aren’t quick to memorize a 6 digit pin fast enough for it to even be anything less of inconvenient. JUST GET HOTEL KEYS!! I asked for my parking to be removed and I was STILL CHARGED!! What an absolute nightmare! If you value your time and your money don’t...
