6th and A Parking Garage — Local services in San Diego

We parked at 6th and A for the 2 pm Symphony concert on Sunday January 12. When we were in line to leave the structure, the sole exit machine stopped working. A couple of cars made it out before this, but the rest if us were in line not moving for 18 minutes, at which point a wonderful gentleman managed to raise the bar so we could leave. Apparently no one is there or on call, and it is not possible to get help when there’s a malfunction. Not only is this inconvenient, it is dangerous - a fire, accident or medical emergency would threaten hundreds of lives.

They know when the concerts are. It is easy to predict an exit rush 3:40-4:30 pm for a matinee concert (attended largely by older folks and families with children). If they can’t arrange to have one person there, or install an override to let people get out, they shouldn’t...

One of the few Tesla Charging Stations in the downtown area, which unfortunately forces you to pay for parking also. Although the parking fees for this underground lot are less expensive than parking...
