Definitely DO NOT go here for anything other than gel-x. It appears that's the only service they can effectively offer. I visited the nail salon and originally requested dip powder or colored acrylic and 3 designs (jade marble, snake print, and a gold lined "mirror" with a chrome or cateye inside with butterfly and flower charms.) The nail tech already appeared to have a problem with the designs I requested or the number of designs I requested based on her demeanor and tone even as she was speaking her native language it was clear there was an issue. I was informed they felt the designs I asked for would not work well with the powder (which I know to be inaccurate as I literally only receive this service at the nail salons I have frequented in my local area and generally pay at least $200 for my nails and toes) so I asked for acrylic instead. 3 separate times. On 3 seperate occasions Gel-X was suggested. I am familiar with gel-x and was not interested, at all. I explained to the nail tech I viewed them as professional press-ons and expressed I was not interested. I should have taken that as my cue to exit the establishment but as I really wanted my nails done and had made an appointment from San Francisco I continued fully expecting that this woman understood what I wanted. She gets the materials and prepares to apply the tips. You guys, it was STILL the set up for the gel-x. When asked she says "Oh, there must have been a "miscommunication." I clearly communicated and she clearly chose to ignore me. I had to leave at that point, because a service provider who misunderstands "No" is beyond me. I paid $40 for the services they had began on my feet but I wouldn't even allow them to finish that. The nail tech definitely had an attitude problem and obviously wasn't very skilled at her chosen profession. Seek another nail salon if you enjoy great customer service and experienced service...
Read moreVivian and Tee are the best Nail Artists I’ve ever been to in San Diego. I used to see them in La Jolla for years and i was so excited to see they opened their own salon in Pacific Beach. I spent a year or two trying other places closer to my house (north county) but i wasn’t ever really happy with the shape/ thickness / design.
Viv does a PERFECT French everytime and absolutely kills it when it comes to color choices. I would often come in with multiple inspiration photos and leave it up to her to choose what she likes best. I’m never scared to let her take the reins and give her artistic freedom. Her design work is immaculate. Tee is equally as amazing, i often see him if Vivians schedule doesn’t work with mine. I tend to test him with crazy designs and he always delivers! I’ve had them both work on my nails at the same time and you couldn’t even tell it wasn’t all done by the same person because it was SO seamless.
Other than their obvious talents they’re actually some of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. (Tell me how Tee remembered my voice when i called to book and the look on Vivian’s face when i walked in was priceless, she welcomed me back with open arms)
They are so special to me I’m so glad to be back. I’ll be driving to PB frequently...
Read moreI had a really bad experience here, very similar to what Francesca described in her review.
I came in excited to get my nails done. I used to do them often, and I’ve never seen a gel process start without first cleaning the nails (cuticles and shaping). So, right from the start, I was confused and disappointed by how my nails looked and how it was not filled to the bottom with the gel.
I remained polite the entire time, but the person taking care of me suddenly became frustrated and removed everything from my nails just because I pointed it out. I was also hesitating between two colors that didn’t match what I had originally asked for, and apparently, asking for advice on colors or designs is not welcome here.
Who wants to book a nail appointment only to leave disappointed?
The behavior of the person was unprofessional, rude, and made me feel embarrassed in the moment. Nobody wants to waste their time, be made to feel like a burden, or be treated with...
