This beach is really long and wide so you can easily go for a run or take a relaxing walk. It is amazing early in the morning if you want to walk or jog while enjoying a fresh cup of coffee and some breakfast. There are plenty of spots nearby where you can pick up your morning coffee and something to eat. You can also find lots of restaurants open for lunch and dinner which makes it really convenient if you want to spend the whole day here. There are many hotels right by the beach so you can literally step out of your room and be on the sand in seconds. It feels great to walk or run along the shore anytime you like. The only issue is parking because there is no designated parking lot so you have to find a spot along the street and that can be a bit challenging. Other than that it is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy your day. There are public restrooms available but I did not see any showers or places to rinse your feet when you leave the beach which would have been...
Read moreMy family loved our trip to San Diego. We rented a nice house on Opal Street, the neighborhood was wonderful, and a stroll along the shops and eateries on Garnet Avenue is nice, but the beaches themselves leave much to be desired. I don't know much about surfing but there were a lot of surfers out and the waves seemed good for it but there's not enough sand to spread out. The rocky outcroppings were nice but pale in comparison to what they have in Santa Monica or Palos Verdes. If you like to stroll along the beach without going in the sand, you're better off going to Venice Beach. You can also check out the outstanding beaches in Hermosa Beach, or Manhattan Beach in the Los Angeles South Bay. The strand along Pacific Beach is far too narrow for the crowds and the shops and houses aren't all that interesting.
Pacific Beach is far from being a bad place to go but there are many better options in Socal to...

The sunsets are magical, and I loved to watch how so many people seem to gather, pause, and of course capture on their smartphones or cameras, but in truth, even though I did the same thing on a few occasions, it was better to just watch it and let the moment settle in my memory for recall anytime I want or need to purge the stress of life. The boardwalk is great fun too, skaters, skate boards, and of course a few too many e-bikes with folks who don’t seem to know how to ride them....
