So maybe itās just because nobody ever tells on them because theyāre supposed to be doing good for the community but Iām gonna let you know the truthā¦. wanting to help and do something to be of service I signed up to be a volunteer and make cupcakes with kids. It started off OK and then I got to meet Chef Theresa. Wow, how rude and disrespectful. I was early and this seemed to really irritate her so I waited outside until it was time to start per her orders. They decided to have me do dishes until the kids showed up. Not a problem, until I got stuck back there and thatās all they āneededā me for. I tried to introduce myself and everyone just ignored me. If you wanted me to leave, you couldāve just asked instead of treating me like I was contagious with some form of untreatable disease. In so many ways, this is like a nice department store but without the high prices. I inquired and the manager (Mary) is the person whom (with the help of Gabby and other staff and volunteers) keeps this place so beautifully displayed and organized. You can even rent China and everything you need for an event! I have found Le Creuset, vintage Pyrex and Fiestaware here. Also a great place to stock your rental home or kids college place. They also sell online so you can keep an eye out for their super special finds. Free parking - they have their own lot. What are you waiting for? Get down there! Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Focaccia Cooking class with Chef Therese was great. We each made a Focaccia bread and decorated it with an assortment of fresh herbs & veggies. Making the bread, learning to infuse olive oil with herbs and make the marinara sauce for dipping, made for some yummy food.
Seeing the creativity of decorations was such fun. A zucchini shark stole the show!! Lupita, from Valentina Farms, provided their local olive oil for the class, and for tasting. That was an added bonus!! The commercial kitchen and individual workspaces are so roomy. Next class...
