I pay and pay for good insurance yet rarely go to the doctor. Recently I had a cold and my rapid test was covid negative. I wanted a pcr test to be sure as we had large events the coming weekend. . I have great insurance. I was not able to get a timely appointment online with Scripps so I drove to the testing tent outside Scripps Green. There was no line and the tester was just hanging out. I asked if they could test me as Im in their system and am willing to pay and I also have great insurance. The tester and her supervisor denied me care and recommended I go wait in the ER/ Urgent Care for a doctor despite minor symptoms. I just wanted to make sure it was not covid positive. I was literally denied care for no reason and they lost money too then the supervisor "nurse" basically encouraged me to sit and wait in the ER infecting patients! Insanity! The tester was just sitting around. How is Scripps not broke! Even for paying patients our health care system is pathetic and dangerous. I literally had someone recommend I go to the clinic at a homeless shelter! UCSD got me in the following morning . Im thinking the CalMed patients and undocumented get better treatment. I just want equal treatment. There was no reason to deny me a test I...
Read moreI went to have blood drawn at the lab on Lane Ave. I feel the staff is not using clean technique before and after each patient. Staff is wearing same gloves at all times, open door to call patient to room, working on computer, accepting paperwork from patients and moving about the clinic. They call me in to get my blood drawn and was told to sit in chair and rest my arm where previous had just been( curtains open and can see from waiting room). No disinfection to chair or arm support for blood draw. The guy still wearing same gloves, palpitate for site, wipe with alcohol prep then palpitate with same gloves. He goes into drawer with sterile items also with same gloves. He draws blood with fingers over site with same gloves. Never once washing his hands or changing gloves between patients then back to office and picking up phone then papers. I really felt bad but didn’t speak up because I don’t like needle stick and afraid staff would be rough with me. I will let my doctor know and never will I expose myself to cross contamination again. I sincerely hope someone from Scripps on Lane Ave in Chula Vista read this and improve...
Read moreTheir billing process is highly problematic. Despite spending a week discussing the issue with their billing department and being redirected to speak with the doctor, there has been no resolution to the incorrect charge. Despite making four attempts to contact the doctor over an eight-week period, I have not received any response. On my fourth call to the doctor, I was instructed by the call center to address CPT code errors with the billing department, as advised by my insurance provider. This necessitated further calls to the billing department, each lasting an hour waiting for a customer rep. It's frustrating that their mistake is causing me to invest so much time in...
