Suki Day Spa — Local services in San Diego

(This review is based on the service I received in May 2018.) Excellent spot for a mani/pedi in the heart of Gaslamp.

Two of my colleagues and I booked a very last minute appointment for manicure and pedicure on a random Thursday night. I called ahead since sometimes salons aren't ready for that many walk-ins at once, and the manager returned my call promptly and let me know they were able to make arrangements to cater to the time we wanted.

I was a bit concerned since many nail salons in downtown have poor ratings and negative reviews, but at Suki Day Spa, the service was very excellent and both the manager and nail technicians took great care to check in regularly ensure we were all comfortable and having fun. As for the pedicure itself, some of my nails were not cut perfectly. However, I didn't point it out since I was only there for the group activity, and I am confident if I said something they would have fixed it right away.

A really great bonus to this whole amazing experience I had at this spa was that they use real aloe vera they break off freshly as a natural alternative to artificially scented lotion. As someone with sensitive skin, I really appreciated this option.

saw they had a head spa treatment which is something not really popular yet where i’m from so i decided to try it out. My appointment was at 3pm but I got done my errands early and hoped to get serviced earlier at 2pm. They were able to accommodate me early. The service itself was relaxing! I did the 90 minute and it included the facial which was a great bonus. I also decided to add a 90 minute massage after the head spa treatment, they weren’t busy and were able to accommodate me! Massage was relaxing as well, it put me to sleep! Masseuse did a good job adjusting pressure on different parts of my body. The only thing I have to comment on was the location of the room I was in. It was next to the bathroom and the walls are thin. I heard some noise coming from next door, not sure if it was a restaurant or something else. Booked online back in June for today; Monday, July 11th. Had texted confirmation within approx. 1 hour (or less) of making appointment. Scheduled 90 minute deep tissue massage, manicure and pedicure. Arrived for 0950 today and was taken upstairs to see Meg for my massage. Meg was phenomenal and got out all my kinks and knots! Very peaceful, soothing and restful! Well needed! A very cold, chilled glass of water was provided afterwards! Once I squared away with Meg for the massage upstairs, downstairs I came. I met Susan who offered me some more ice water (yes! please!) and picked out my gel color (hot pink). The foot soak was perfect! I'm very happy with my visit and my chat with Susan!
