Great For College Football Saturday I was wondering around Gaslamp looking for a place to watch the games on Saturday. Look no further than Barleymash! Great food, tons of TVs and has one of my favorite drinks, Sweet Lincoln's Mullet!!

Seating and Service This place was moderately busy but is big enough that finding a seat won't be a problem (I sat at the bar). The bar in the center is pretty big and seats a lot of people, while there are traditional tables/booths to accommodate larger parties. The service was pretty good with my group getting coverage from two different bartenders always keeping our waters full and seeing if we needed anything to drink.

Atmosphere One of the busier bars in Gaslamp for a Saturday afternoon. Full of military people (I don't know what I expected, I guess it is San Diego after all). For how busy it was, the noise levels did not reach a point where you have trouble having a conversation with the people in your group which is great. More than enough TVs with different games on, along with the featured game as well.

Food I ordered the All-in Nachos, cheese, pork, bacon, veggies, and other great ingredients. They were quite delectable! Big enough to satisfy 3 or more people unless you're really hungry and selfishly indulging yourself (as I was), then its enough food for 1 person. The wings I had, along with the wings in the group next to us, were slightly luke-warm with some of them still being cold! The manager came out to make it right for both of us and gave us new orders though.

Overall I am only giving 4 stars because of the wings and the time it took for the food to come out. I would definitely go here again the next time I am in San...

Barely Mash in San Diego completely lived up to the hype we saw on Chopped from Food Network! We went there for lunch and ordered the fish and chips and the burger. Both dishes were exceptional, but the fish and chips really stood out. The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside while tender and flaky on the inside, and the fries were golden and seasoned just right. What really surprised us was the pickle slaw served with it—it added such a fresh, tangy twist to the dish and elevated the entire meal. Even their homemade ketchup was something special, with a flavor that perfectly complemented the fries.

The burger was equally impressive, with juicy, flavorful meat and fresh toppings that made every bite satisfying. The menu offers some unique spins on classic dishes, so definitely ask questions if you have any dietary preferences or if you're not sure about a certain flavor combination. But trust me, the twists are worth it!

Our experience was made even better by the amazing service. Our server, Aaron, was incredibly kind, warm, and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. He took time to explain the menu and offer great recommendations. The hostess was also super friendly and had a great attitude, which set a positive tone for the entire meal.

Barely Mash is more than just a lunch spot—it's a place where you can enjoy excellent food with creative twists and exceptional service. If you're in San Diego and want to try something unique, this place is...

Over the past year, Barleymash has become more than just a restaurant, it’s been a Sunday ritual for my friends and I. It’s a place to unwind. From the moment you walk in, the energy is warm, inviting, and effortlessly lively without ever feeling chaotic.

The food is consistently outstanding. Every dish, whether it’s a perfectly executed brunch favorite, the indulgent Steak Dinner, or a perfectly cooked burger, reflects the attention to detail, creativity, and genuine care. The drinks are equally impressive, with a rotating selection of local beers and well-crafted cocktails that always hit the spot.

What truly sets Barleymash apart, though, is the staff. A special shoutout is owed to the Sunday Bartenders, their professionalism, friendliness, and effortless ability to keep the vibe upbeat have made every Sunday amazing. They’re the heartbeat of the experience and deserve every bit of recognition. Every visit, they balance professionalism with friendliness, creating a space where you feel welcome and genuinely taken care of. The ambiance, the live music, the crowd, the communal energy, never fails to lift your spirits, making it the perfect spot to spend some time.

Barleymash isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a cornerstone of the Gaslamp experience. To anyone reading this, treat yourself. It’s a gem in every sense...
