I eat a lot of Mexican food and don't do that downtown all that often. I had heard the food was really good at Las Hadas and so I ventured Downton. It was happy hour and loss Hadas opens for happy hour at 3 during the weekdays. I had the bartender pick a margarita for me because I like tequila and I like margaritas and they had a good selection. It was delicious with fresh lime juice and I was really enjoying it when I noticed the happy hour food menu. I ordered traditional carnitas tacos. They were served with the best rice and beans I have ever had the black beans were in a delicious sauce and the rice was so well-seasoned unlike what you usually get at most Mexican restaurants.. the carnitas was juicy and flavorful and the plate was a decent meal size-wise and an excellent meal taste-wise. The girl sitting next to me at the bar had all heads turn towards her when her food was delivered. She had ordered beef fajitas and they arrived sizzling from the plate and smelled so good that everyone took notice. I said wow and she said I looked up the best beef fajitas in downtown San Diego and this place came up. I had to agree without even tasting them but after she tasted them she said that they definitely were the best. I will order them next time the meat looked and smelled so good I wanted to share with her. Overall it was an excellent happy hour experience that I will definitely be back for more. Also I must add that the service was impeccable. My bartender Nate was friendly and helpful to everyone who he encountered and the guy at the door who seemed like an owner or member of the family stopped by people at the bar and the tables just asked if everything was okay. Very friendly atmosphere excellent food excellent drinks...

Read moreI just wanted to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received there upon paying of the cheque. We went to have dinner and drinks on February 3, 2024. There were 4 of us and we had ordered a lot - food and drinks, we even got the Patron flights and the truck. Our total bill was almost 300$ and we decided to split the bill. 140$ each. The server had arrived with the handheld card machine to process our card payments. My friend had swiped her card before me and she already tipped. When it was my turn to swipe my card for my share, the server repeatedly asked me if I was going to tip her. She'd seen that I clicked "No tip" on the machine. I told her that my friend had already tipped her and she told me "that was for their side". Which I did not understand since we were all seated together in one table and had only 1 server, which was her. I then shook my head indicating that I wasn't going to tip, she took the machine away with an attitude. I was very displeased by this and I was contemplating for weeks whether to leave your restaurant a bad review or send an email to you about it. I did not understand the way the server acted, firstly we already had a big bill to pay and she wanted 2x the tip for serving the same table. I had never in my life experienced this kind of attitude from a server. I just wanted to let you know and hopefully management finds out about this. Sad to say, I really enjoyed the food and ambiance of the restaurant but I won't find myself coming back to your...
