My husband had the worst experience in this place with Mark. The guy didn’t know what to do, he would run to fetch different brushes/tools, he took him to wash his hair twice (???). He DID NOT use the machine, even though the haircut my husband asked for clearly required it. To avoid any doubts, we showed him the picture of the haircut he wanted, and it’s a very simple and clean style. The first picture is what we asked for, and the second one is what was received. When I said that it was too long and didn’t at all look like the picture, Mark argued that the hair cut with scissors grows slower than the machine cut one, so it’s not necessary to cut more 😳 But by that point my husband was so upset that he was just making me signs to be quiet so we could leave asap before it would get worse. We paid 80 usd for the haircut that we had to go and fix the next day at some other place. Not to mention that the salon is lacking cleaning, the bathroom is dirty, full of hair. I really don’t know how it manages to get high ratings on google,...
Read moreI 💗 love 💗Dearinger!! I have been a client of Dearinger since 1995 when I first stepped into their La Jolla salon.
I moved downtown in 2001 and naturally started to get all my hair products, cut and color at the Market Street location.
Mark, is the kindest salon owner. Soft spoken and patient to his clients. All his staff throughout the years have always given me a stylish and easy to manage hair cut.
I am still impressed that they have a local TV news station anchors as clients for decades!

Go to Dearinger, relax, take in the scalp massage, ask for some tea, or water and let them do your magic. By the way my man and my daughter get their hair...
Read moreWORST salon I’ve ever been to! I have been to many places, as I love a good blow out. This place was the worst blow out I’ve ever had. ((They don’t use round brushes, only paddle brushes)) So if you have wavy/curly hair your going to leave looking like a frizzy lions mane. You will not get that silky, wavy bounce look that most salons give right now. Plus, the paddle brush was constantly getting caught and snagging on my hair. They say they don’t use round brushes for the health of your hair... they made so many knots while they were blowing out and then offered a flat iron. Getting caught on knots and flat ironing is more damaging than a round brush... I paid for a headache and frizzy crazy hair... Don’t waste...
