I mean... god, what can I say about this place? This is the first time I've ever felt so insulted I've felt compelled to leave a Google review.
TL;DR: a snarky sales associate referred us to Amazon.. what?
My boyfriend and I recently traveled internationally and wore fancy matching pajamas at some of the nicer hotels we stayed at, and we've been joking that we should get some for real life. Today, Valentine's Day, he tried to surprise me by reading about a "great place" he read about online. Very romantic, very cute of him.
We walked in and were barely acknowledged, but we were eventually directed to the pajama section. I'm a 5'5", 125 pound ish woman, and they didn't really have his and hers pajamas, so I figured I would just get a small in the men's size. The pajamas ranged from $375-$425, if memory serves, so a bit of a splurge in my mind for PAJAMAS, but my boyfriend wasn't bothered by it and told me he was happy to buy us a matching set as a special Valentine's Day gift.
A store associate approached us and snappily asked what we were looking for. When my boyfriend told him we were looking for matching pajamas, joking that we were "gross like that", this guy curled his lip at us and rolled his eyes behind his fake designer glasses. The pajamas we wanted were only in M and XL, so I picked up the M and was checking them out, and he snappily said "What are you trying to look at?"
.... I told him I was trying to figure out how big they were. He snatched them from my hands with his costume-jewelry encrusted fingers and unfolded them saying that medium was probably too big for me. He then appraised me, sweeping me from head to toe and smirked and said... "actually.... these are probably a good size for you."
.... Okay. Great.
We were kind of floored by how rude he was, but before we even had a chance to look at other options, he said, "You know where I would look? Amazon. I'm sure you can find something there."
You know that scene in Mean Girls, where that snarky associate tells Regina George to "try Sears"? Yeah. It was that, but from a sad fifty year-old man.
We left, and my boyfriend felt so bad and so embarrassed that his Valentine's Day surprise was completely ruined by this rude person. I didn't blame him, of course.
The crazy thing was for someone in a brick-and-mortar store we had made a twenty minute drive to advised us to go to Amazon. Are you kidding? A store with associates who say stuff like this is INSANE to me. They're literally ASKING to be shut down.
We may not be the Zuckerbergs, but you know what? We were not only prepared to drop $800 on PAJAMAS, I was considering buying my boyfriend a Barbour jacket. He's been wanting one for years, and I'm pretty sure they had a selection for us to explore. Didn't really get the chance.
But hey, you know what? Since they REALLY wanted us to take our business elsewhere, might I recommend:

Read moreVisiting my daughter and family I always walk by this great place. Finally stopped in this week with my wife and daughter because of a display in window. I tried on my size from display which was great. BUT! The fantastic gentleman assisting me suggested a couple of other choices. My wife and daughter each saw one of his suggestions and said it was me. It is now mine. I love this place and the two gentlemen that assisted are my favorite from other shops I have visited throughout the US. Just a warning. I will stay at the same venue that requires me to walk by it get to my daughters. Keep the window display awesome. I’ll be back. Only wish I could remember the gentleman’s name to thank...
