If you are reading this, you are doing your due diligence. Although I initially had good experiences with this location, my most recent experience was not. I feel compelled to warn others about the serious risks involved.
Neurotoxin injections, like Botox, carry inherent risks, which is why I chose what I thought was a reputable clinic. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of horrific. In August, I received Botox injections for bunny lines, which were recommended by the practitioner, along with filler for my tear troughs. The Botox caused unintended muscle relaxation, paralyzing the lower right side of my face and giving me a drooping, asymmetrical appearance. This isn’t just aesthetically displeasing—it's ugly, terrifying, and something I have to live with for four-six months, as I agreed to use the newest neurotoxin that supposedly has longer lasting results. The filler that was supposed to address my tear troughs was instead injected into my cheeks, resulting in the dreaded “pillow face”—an unnatural, swollen look that everyone wants to avoid. There was no question that the neurotoxin was misplaced, resulting in the paralysis of my cheek muscle, causing the whole right side of my face to sag. The filler, which was supposed to fill my tear troughs, was eventually dissolved by a separate injector, who claimed I was over-full. Over-filled by a member of the Skin Spirit team. As many people know, this process is never precise, often leaving lumps and bumps and resulting in a very unnatural appearance.
The impact of these treatments has been devastating. I lost valuable time and business due to my inability to continue client-facing work, and the emotional toll has been overwhelming. While the spa did refund the treatment and didn’t charge for corrective procedures, they avoided any further compensation or remediation, claiming I would be “further disappointed.” This was despite the fact that the entire office and two separate practitioners acknowledged the failed results, taking photos to document the before and after.
One would expect nothing less than a committed effort to fix their mistake. However, it seems they viewed this as an expense rather than a responsibility. The most disappointing aspect was their claim that I would be “further disappointed” when I had placed my trust in the reputation, expertise, and professionalism of this business.
Their refusal to take full responsibility highlights a lack of professionalism and care for their clients. When dealing with treatments that can negatively affect your appearance for months, the expertise of the injectors and their willingness to address issues properly are crucial. Sadly, I found neither at Skin Spirit. If you’re considering treatments here, be aware that the risks are real, and the consequences can be much worse than just a disappointing result. They can be...

I was disappointed after my visit to SkinSpirit Presidio Heights. I should have been warned when I decided to spontaneously book a facial for the next day and there was a lot of availability…
I arrived to my appointment early, as this was my first time visiting a SkinSpirit. I had filled out forms online, but figured I would go early in case they needed anything else. I wait a few minutes past my appointment time, and then the tech Lori Ann comes to get me. When we get in the room, she says that we need to go over the form again (I already filled it out online), and after 10 minutes of doing that with her, she says she needs to get a PA to review the form and confirm with me via phone that I can proceed with treatment. She insists this is required by the state of CA, but I’ve had facials before across the state and have never been required to do this. Maybe because they offer injectables and laser too, but it seems like they shouldn’t make simpler appointments go through the same lengthy process. I sit in the room for a while before she finally comes back. It’s now a good 35 mins past when my appt “started” (and it’s only an hr service to begin with). I’m annoyed and having second doubts, but I feel like I’m in too deep at this point.
The actual service felt rushed, I suspect because she was short on time, but I would have rather she simply apologize, tell me I can’t do all of this today, and give me a shorter, attentive treatment rather than moving quickly through things. I also wasn’t impressed with the job she did. It felt a bit sloppy. A week later, a spot where she did extractions still feels bruised (has never happened to me before), and my face wasn’t clean when she finished? She handed me the mirror and my face was covered in dust, hair, and fuzzies, which she said were from the headband to keep hair back. Come on. The very least is your face should be squeaky clean after a treatment like this. I also felt she was a bit condescending towards me at times.
I also thought it was weird that when it came to charging, they charged it as two express services instead of a single facial + derma-planning add on (as I had originally booked). I wanted a full facial treatment with an add on, not the add on plus just one part of a normal facial.
Don’t recommend, at least...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Skin Spirit (San Francisco- Presidio) for a facial treatment, and I can honestly say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish.
Ambiance and Cleanliness: Upon entering the spa, I was immediately struck by the serene and inviting atmosphere. The interior is beautifully designed, exuding tranquility with soft lighting, soothing music, and a clean, well-maintained environment. It feels like a peaceful oasis, perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Professionalism and Staff: The staff at Skin Spirit (Presidio) are truly exceptional. From the front desk to the treatment room, everyone was welcoming, friendly, and professional. My esthetician, Kailee was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to discuss my skin concerns and goals before we began. I appreciated their personalized approach and expertise.
The Facial Treatment: I suffered with hormonal acne. It was so bad. I opted for the Diamond glow or Signature Facial which was tailored to my skin type and needs. The treatment itself was heavenly! It started with a gentle cleansing, followed by exfoliation (extractions) and a relaxing massage that melted away my stress. They do extraction, dermaplaning and chemical peel as add on. They different time of chemical peel so feel free to ask what you want and what is good for your skin. The use of high-quality products made a noticeable difference. I got botox done too with Nurse Maria. She is really good and tells you with honesty what you need to do with your face.
Results: The results were nothing short of amazing. My skin felt rejuvenated, hydrated, and glowing. I noticed a significant improvement in texture and tone, and I received compliments from friends and family in the days following my visit.
Conclusion: Overall, my experience at Skin Spirit (Presidio) exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for a place that combines professionalism, expertise, and a relaxing atmosphere for facial treatments, I highly recommend this spa. I can’t wait for...
