Dark Garden — Local services in San Francisco

We visited DG for the first time last weekend as was thoroughly impressed with the company and personnel. The quality of the products produced is stunning and the staff was amazing!

We had set a 'Boutique' appointment to have my wife fitted for a corset and were initially assisted by Alexandra who was incredibly accommodating, knowledgeable, bubbly and so forth until or appointment's 'fitter' was ready.

We were then assisted by Carynn, the store manager, who was also amazing! She quickly narrowed down the right size and fit of a corset, matching our wants and needs. She patiently explained everything from the construction of the corset, fit, wear, etc. It was an awesome experience and, from someone who's personally worked in retail and specifically retail clothing including custom garments, I was thoroughly impressed.

Then the coup de gras. As my wife was trying on the Rosalind gown, Autumn, the founder and owner came in and assisted us, too. Top to bottom, the experience was amazing.

I HIGHLY recommend visiting their establishment or engaging with them if you are in the market for a corset, custom bra, etc...you will not be disappointed!

We ended up ordering one corset and planning for a second...and third. And a dress. And some other stuff.

I had been a fan of Dark Garden for years! A friend of mine passed down a used underbust she purchased from their store ages ago, and I had a good time wearing it to an event. I've always wanted to visit the store in person, and finally had my chance when I went to their store to visit their business neighbor, Revelation In Fit. The ladies in Dark Garden were really nice and directed me to my appointment, and also invited me to check our their store afterwards if I had the time. Which I did, and I did.

Kay and a new clerk (my apologies for not getting her name, but she was awesome and gorgeous, and I wish her all the best in her new position at the store!) helped me out in trying on their demo corsets. One overbust model and one underbust model. The fitting results from the models I tried (Eden and Valentine) were BEAUTIFUL! And Kay was knowledgeable and encouraging. I really appreciated her help!

Since it was after another appointment, i wasn't prepared to go all-in on a corset at that time. However, I WILL make my way again to "Dark Garden" to fully partake in their beautiful delights. I'll want to get a corset (or two) to help bring some special drama to my wardrobe.

Stopped in at Dark Garden after I first discovered them at the Charles Dickens Christmas Fair. I've always wanted a real corset and have bought many cheap costume ones in the past; it was time for the real deal! This shop has quite a range of selections for both men and women. They also do custom orders and bridal wear. The owner has been designing corsets for over 20 years and Dita von Teese, along with other notable celebrities, are amongst her client list.

Danielle was super sweet, patient, and educational in helping me choose my first corset. I went in thinking I would want a specific style but after she encouraged me to try on a few other ones and in different colors, I was going in a completely different direction.

Even if you do not think a corset is for you, stop by and try it out. It's a life changing experience and I bet you'll love...
