Sugar Lounge — Restaurant in San Francisco

We went this past Friday for happy hour and had such a good time. It looks like they had remodeled the place a lil bit by adding tables that have a glowing marble top. This definitely adds a fun accenting light to the place without making it look too dark. They do provide little munchies to snack on - grilled cheese with jalapeño peppers, egg rolls, guacamole with chips and tempura. The drink I stuck with for the night was the American mule. It was deceivingly light in alcohol flavor, but boy did I get a great buzz after 2. The ginger beer hit the spot every time in the American mule. My husband got the mandarin mule, it was sweeter than we like but definitely a good choice for people that want their drinks that sweet. Came in on a Sunday night. There were people but it wasn't super crowded. I ordered a richmond gimlet, my friend ordered a chocolate man-tini. Her drink was made second and had pieces of mint in it. I complained and the bartender laughed and brushed me off saying "oh, those are pieces of mint from the other drink. My bad, happens sometimes." Didn't offer to fix it, didn't acknowledge that it was gross that he hadn't properly washed out the tin, plus allergy worries. Makes me wonder about the quality and cleanliness of anything else from that bartender. I did enjoy my drink and the vibes of the bar, but that experience really rubbed me the wrong way.

Great place for happy hour around Hayes valley after work! They provide free bite sized sushi, chips, and other types of food such as sandwiches during happy hour, and the food is pretty delicious too! Bartenders are friendly. The music is a tad bit loud so if you're looking to come here for a deep heart felt conversation it may not be the best place as it is just slightly hard to hear. Other than that, I've always had great times coming here. They have a TV in the back that they sometimes play the big sports games going on there. Very clean place with some sofa couches to lounge on and chairs near the food...
