Expensive. Ask for a receipt when purchasing produce! Iāve gone a few times and to be honest, I walk away rationalizing how much I spent on a few items of produce. Itās easy to spend over $25 on peaches and plums alone. Today, I bought the amount of produce in the photo and was charged $27. This time I went back and asked if I was charged the right price because I couldnāt believe the little Iād bought was really $27. The lady weighing the food said since the 7 is so close to the 4, she made a mistake and charged me $7 a pound instead of $4 a pound. She said it was a mistake and felt bad about it but, Iām not sure Iāll return because as I said, Iāve walked away asking myself if I can continue to afford supporting farmers this way if itās going to be this expensive. I'll tell you what was huge though.... the waste of my time which I'll never get back but at least I can say that I've been there though and can give my honest opinion which is this..It would be totally worth it if you waited a day or two to make it to the heart of San Francisco Farmers market that goes at the Civic center because there are way more stands more variety the produce doesn't look like it's bottom of the barrel off the floor pick if you know what I mean which is what I experienced at the Fillmore Farmers market anyway I don't want to speak bad about them they're just trying to make an honest but that's my opinion maybe it's not humble but...

I think farmer's market as a place that offers fresh local produce, not strictly organic.
Easily accessible by public transit and near Japantown, this market is conveniently located, but if you only buy organic, this market may not be the best choice.
I like to think of buying local produce as a way to support local farmers, where you get to know the people from...
