I really canât recommend this place enough. Set was fantastic from start to finish; it felt like he genuinely cared about our experience and he was absolutely lovely to work with. His prices were also extremely fair. If youâre looking for an engagement ring, I honestly think Set is the best youâll find.
After a very disappointing and disillusioning experience with Brilliant Earth (where they tried to upsell us at every turn and didnât follow through on the services they promised), Set was a breath of fresh air with how transparent and genuine he was.
We came to him with a highly specific, complicated dream ring in mind; we had been searching both online and in person for months, and had only been able to find one or two specific artists across the country that were reputable and could get in the ballpark of what we wanted.
Setâs design team helped us go from an assortment of inspiration images to a ring that looked exactly like we hoped. He uses high-tech ring molding techniques and is able to achieve intricate custom shapes.
I even came in with a gemstone that I was determined would be the centerpiece for my ringâ other jewelers had refused to work with a stone that was not sourced through them, but Set was happy to use my stone.
My partner had a very specific and rare color of diamond she wanted, and Set ordered several batches of stones until he found one that was perfect.
All of this for a price that ended up being cheaper than what Brilliant Earth had quoted us!
When I came to him a few weeks after receiving my ring because it ended up being too big, he resized it at no charge, even though he had made it exactly the size we agreed on (my fingers are just smaller than I thought!)
Overall, we just had a really great experience and weâre so glad we stumbled across this...
Read moreTHE WORST ENGAGEMENT RING SHOPPING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. Please save some time and do not go to La Bijouterie. Set, the owner, is by far the most unwelcoming, condescending, and demeaning person I have ever met. Within 10 minutes of being in the shop with a proper appointment, I was so offended and uncomfortable that I had to leave.
Set doesn't bother to greet you or show any interest in helping you find the right ring. Instead, he treats you like you're inconveniencing him by being there. His demeanor was so off-putting that I just left by thanking him for his time but telling him that I really donât feel welcomed there.
To make matters worse, he calls my cell phone to say he was surprised to see me take off. He doesnât apologize or try to understand from my perspective. He goes on about how I am the one misunderstanding him.
When I looked up reviews later, I discovered I wasn't alone. Countless others have experienced the same rude treatment from Set. Yet, he remains oblivious, making excuses by replying to them that he was âsurprisedâ and âmisunderstoodâ and refuses to acknowledge his behavior. This review should be no surprise to him because he knows what he did and he will probably comment on this too.
Save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere for your ring. No girl or guyâs ring fitting experience should be ruined like this and let alone no one should be treated like this. There are plenty of other jewelers in San Francisco who are kind and actually value their customers. La Bijouterie is not one of them.
If you need recommendations, Yadav and other jewelers in 888 Brannan St (SFâs diamond district) were thoughtful and I had a...
Read moreI designed my fiancee's engagement ring here with her help (definitely recommend ring shopping with your lady guys, figure out what she likes). And for an experience I'll only need to do once in my life I can't imagine it going any better.
Obviously, I don't know much about diamonds so the entire 1st appointment and a good part of the second, Set just talked with the two of us and figured out what we liked/explained all the different parts of the grading scales for diamond. Then after we discussed our budget and got an idea of what the band would look like to get the price for that, Set pulled out his diamond container and showed us 10+ stones that were all around our budget, explaining why each was graded in the way that it was, showing us the different spots and marks that can bring the scores down. We got to choose EXACTLY the stone we wanted out of so many options without ever feeling pressured to "just choose one of these, you've already seen 5". After we chose the stone, Set took our notes on what we wanted the band to look like and created a design around the stone, rather than just plopping the rock into a template and going with it; we even got to make sure the diamond was positioned in a way that the one major "inclusion" on it is hidden by one of the prongs.
It's been 4 months since I proposed and my fiancee still can't help but stare at her gorgeous ring. We haven't decided 100% but I think we're both heavily leaning towards getting our wedding bands...
