Our experience today was mixed. The process to get an appointment is somewhat confusing. One needs to send a text message on Monday morning as described on their website. Read it thoroughly, or one may make a trip and be turned back for not having an appointment. We arrived well before our scheduled appt. and found that there was limited seating. Waiting for 30 minutes until enough people had gone through their processes that chairs became available. Still others remained either standing or sitting on the floor. Once the our time appointment time came and went we inquired as to when we might be seen. We asked the receptionist and a little while later she asked one of the staff. Finally 35 minutes after our scheduled time we were seen. The person helping was Sonja, the ambassador at this office. She was very nice, sincere and a pleasure to work with. Both of our items were taken care of, and we left. We noticed that the office had emptied out quite a bit upon our departure. This was around 2:30 or so. I did see the rest of the staff were also friendly and helpful with their clients. The only thing I would ask for them to improve upon is add more chairs for seating, and the paper one has to fill in upon arrival is tiny. One almost needs a magnifying glass to see it, let alone write on it. It is a slip of paper 1.5" x 4" in size with three lines of text/questions. Probably trying to save paper. Perhaps they can offer this also online for clients to fill in prior to arrival and present it to the receptionist? ...
Read moreThe consulates have horrible service with a reservation system that DOES NOT work not to mention they are illegally selling appointments off through a group of people who are employees at the Consulates (more than one Consulate) and you have to pay and it’s all being run by a this group of corrupt employees at these Consulates and the call center, The main guy that oversees these appointments is rude and very vulgar and makes threats to the employees that are also corrupt , if I could up load the audio of the proof I would!!!! Additionally if you show up in person at the consulate you will get no help and just keep getting told to use the online system that doesn’t work and each Consulate amazingly knows this that’s why the online appointment system will not work for you because they lock it out so you are forced to pay this group who are corrupt and performing ILLEGAL operations. You figure if you were in charge of the Consulate you would read the hundreds of reviews people are leaving and fix it, but they won’t because it’s corrupt at the top!!!!! But it is obvious to all they don’t care.. This system is BROKE and FAILING the Columbian citizens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope everyone starts turning these instances into the investigative media news outlets to shed light on the subject….. IT IS OUT OF CONTROL WITH NO CONCERN FOR THE...
Read moreMy experience was excellent, all the staff was friendly, kind and supportive. It was worth traveling to the Colombian Consulate in San Francisco. I used to go to the one in Los Angeles, because the airplane tickets are cheaper and it's closer to Las Vegas, but the staff there was negative, had a rude attitude, and the long waiting times in this place forced me to spend more money to solve my need. I went to the San Francisco Consulate afraid because I did not have an appointment and I needed to apostille a document with urgency but when I showed my airplane ticket they attended me immediately and I only took half an hour to be there and I got an awesome service and the information that I needed. San Francisco's Consulate staff listened and helped me more than I expected; because they are cordial and responsive to the people needs and they represent with a good customer service and professionalism our country with compatriots and foreigners. I really...
