I recently discovered this fantastic new Mexican restaurant Cenote, which was just what I needed to brighten up a mid-week evening after work. The atmosphere is laid-back and coastal chic.
One of the highlights of the evening was definitely the margaritas, which were truly exceptional. I tried the Passion Fruit margarita and the Organica margarita, both of which were absolutely delicious. I'm already looking forward to my next visit when I can try the Watermelon.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including appetizers, salads, tacos, and dessert, and everything was fantastic. One of the things I loved about the menu was the ability to customize your tacos with different types of meat, which made for a truly personalized dining experience.

Read moreI saw the sign on the sidewalk and decided to try for lunch. I got the Cenote with chicken, which is basically the John Holmes of burritos. As a hetero, I felt slightly awkward yet still managed to enjoy (hmmmm…) Seriously, it was delicious and packed with plenty of chicken. Some parts of the burrito were randomly cold, which I think was caused by the rice not being hot. You should fix that. Also, there is waaaay too much lemon in the water. Like unsweetened lemonade. It was undrinkable. Maybe give folks the option to have lemons or not. The chips and salsa were pretty good, with two salsa options included. But they didn’t give enough of either to finish the chips. If they fix the water I’d gladly eat there again. Or maybe they have bottled water? Just thought...
Read moreI walked in on a Friday afternoon to order the Street Style Tacos and went with carnitas. I ordered a trio of carnitas Street Style Tacos to go. The food was still nice and warm by the time I arrived back at my office. Oh boy! These were some big tacos with the filling almost spilling from the sides! The tacos were almost as scrumptiously delicious as the tacos I’ve had in San Diego. I basically inhaled the tacos and didn’t even think to save or share with family. I gobbled up all 3 tacos in less than 15 minutes. Cenote is a great place to get a fresh and filling lunch for $11-12! For the plant-based folks, no need to fret because Cenote has quite a few vegetarian and vegan options on their menu. Give this family-owned business a try for your next...
