Larkin Street Laundromat — Local services in San Francisco

I have been using this place every week for the last 2.5 years. This used to be a very nicely operated place when I started using it. While the place is physically small, the machines were all trust-worthy, and things were repaired fast. Doing laundry here wasn’t stressful. However, the quality has been decreasing a lot in the last 6 months. The place has become more dirty, with trash and belongings left around, or spilled water/drinks on the chairs. Been seeing machines dirty/muddy on the outside and sometimes on the inside too. It smells like poop inside the laundromat about 50% of the time I enter. Have been having a lot more trouble with machines as well, sometimes washers not running properly or not spinning well, leaving clothes soaking wet. I used to find it relaxing to do my laundry here, but nowadays I just get stressed about what stuff I will have to deal with when I come this week. No one is ever here. Someone accidentally dropped their soap and now the floor is wet and slippery. I tried to help and there is soap all over my hands with no water to wash them. This is a laundromat, you'd think there would be water avaliable to rinse out detergent bottles. The vending machine for soap, fabric softener, and bounce sheets have been out of service for as long as I've been coming here. There's no small washers. I needed to wash one shirt and one pair of jeans now having to pay $4 for 2 articles of clothing.its ridiculous. This is a very cramped space laundromat. Rule of thumb here is someone will be in your way or you will be in someone's way. There is no real space for folding clothes here. The washers I used, the bigger $5.25 machines, worked well. The dryers were disappointing. You get 5 minutes dryer time for 25 cents. These dryers do not not put out really hot air, more like warm air. Be prepared to spend more quarters getting your clothes dry. One dryer didn't even start spinning when I put clothes in.
