TL;DR: the team at 77 Plastic Surgery is great and supportive. They did a fantastic job putting me at ease and I’m super happy with my MiraDry results.

I am one of those people that just cannot own a white shirt. After 1 wear, I always have pit stains, and my closet has an odor when I open the door. I had considered Botox treatments to help with my sweating, though I knew these were temporary treatments, and so I was super intrigued by Miradry.

I went to my first treatment in November was incredibly nervous. I don’t like needles. I didn’t know if I would be okay with lasers, and I didn’t understand the healing process at all but it looked terrible on YouTube. Dr. Fan and his assistant, Ann Hong did a great job of squashing some of my anxiety and explaining the process. They even told me beforehand to bring headphones so I could tune out and stay calm.

The procedure took about an hour. The worst part is probably the lidocaine injections at first because of course I have a needle phobia. The laser part is not so bad! A couple sore spots but nothing I couldn’t handle (I can’t handle much). I went home right after and iced my arm pits as recommended for the next couple days. After that they were still a bit swollen but I was able to attend thanksgiving dinner with my family without issue. Dr. Fan will ask you to take photos to check on the healing process after 72 hours. I liked this since I didn’t have to go in but he still checks on progress afterwords. On Sunday night I flew out to Las Vegas for a conference and worked it every day.. and omg… I wasn’t sweating! I could handle all my business meeting and running back and forth between hotels without BO!!!!

It did take a few months for my swelling to go completely down and for my armpits to not feel numb, but overall I was super happy with the results. Fast forward to this past week when I decided to go do a second appointment. Why? Because the weather got warmer and I was starting to sweat a little. Not too much… but enough that I resumed wearing deodorant if I was going out to a club. The second appointment was so so so much easier.. it’s day 2 of healing and the swelling is not as bad at all. I have no sweat so far, and I’m super stoked with my results. Thank you so much Ann and Dr. Fan! You have significantly improved my self confidence and life and just been awesome humans during the whole process.

I am now slowly saving up for a new wardrobe of shirts that smell fresh...

Dr Fan & his team of skilled professionals truly helped me to achieve the goals I had set for myself. I met Dr. Fan after losing 240 lbs left me with loose, hanging skin from my navel to my knees. This prevented me from feeling comfortable at the beach, pool, in shorts, or shirtless. Being a private person, I was nervous about discussing these embarrassing body areas with a surgeon.

During the entire 90-minute consultation, Dr. Fan was professional, encouraging, and thorough. After I changed into a robe, he asked detailed questions and truly listened to my responses. When ready, he had me stand before a mirror, remove the robe, and with my permission addressed each concern. It was personal but gave me information I found I couldn't easily get elsewhere.

I left with a clear understanding of what could realistically be done, the costs, and timeline. I felt informed, respected, and comfortable throughout. A week later, I put down a deposit and scheduled my first surgery.

Update 8/2025: It's now 18 months since my first surgery and a year after my second. The first involved the front half of a 360 body lift, extended inner thigh lift, and pubic lift. The second made minor adjustments and completed the back half.

Initially I looked bloated and traumatized, but that was expected. As swelling decreased, I could see how much loose skin was removed and how the remaining skin tightened. Over months, scars faded and I regained abilities I had lost as a fat person, like bending over to tie shoes, touching the floor, and getting up from the ground without gym embarrassment.

I now work out 6x weekly and love my life. My body continues making minor adjustments as muscles tighten and scars fade. Comparing my results to other men who've had this surgery - mine look much better. I mean no disrespect to the other patients, but it's hard to remove a lot of lose skin and make it look right. Dr. Fan did a great job.

It wasn't always easy. There was some pain and recovery wasn't immediate, but it was worth every second of discomfort because now I have a life.
