Royal Motor Sales — Local services in San Francisco

I strongly caution anyone against purchasing a vehicle from Royal Auto Group of San Francisco. When I bought my car 2 1/2 years ago, they assured me it was a Certified Pre-Owned Audi in excellent condition. They provided a Carfax report showing minor damage, which they dismissed as insignificant. However, they completely failed to disclose the true extent of the car’s history and the severe damage it had actually sustained.

Now, as I try to sell the vehicle, I’ve discovered that CarMax and all other dealerships have refused to purchase it due to the extent of the damage. Every major reporting agency now lists the vehicle as having severe damage, significantly devaluing it. Despite this, Royal Auto Group had no problem selling it to me while claiming it was a Certified Pre-Owned Audi.

To make matters worse, they are not even a certified Audi dealer, which makes their claim of selling me a Certified Pre-Owned Audi completely false and deceptive. Their lack of honesty and integrity is appalling, and I feel deeply misled and taken advantage of.

Recent Experience (it's bad)

Purchased my 4th Audi from this place, regretfully. This was the new Q4 etron. Paid 70k-ish with a $15,000 blatant and shameless "mark up" b/c they have "supply" issues even though they had more q4s to show me on the lot than any other model traded in a tesla and the dealership would not give me the bluebook value, but rather $5k less. Also purchased the warranty for $5k which according to Audi, only costs $999. Are you with me? $25k so far spent on nothing. 2 weeks in, the car has a "electrical system failure" and the car has been in the shop now for a month. No rental car. Service department is not telling me what's wrong with the car. I have to ask repeatedly to get them to tell me what the issue is. Still no car.

Don't get me wrong, these folks are LOVELY. Super friendly. Pleasant. Not super knowledgeable (the salesman promised me the car had this one feature I wanted and of course it did not). But, also, they'll lie about anything. They'll lie about what they had for lunch. They'll steal your wallet and help you...

BEWARE!! PREDATORY LENDING AT ITS FINEST. They keep saying that there are no fees or penalties in the state of CA (and that its illegal) for paying off your loan early if you finance through them, however if you read the contract it says that they will charge you all interest owed, paid and unpaid.
