A long time ago, my family went on a tour to Alcatraz, but it was a long long time ago, so I don't remember much.It was already dusk when we arrived at the ferry terminal, so we decided to go early next time.I really thought that it would be better to act according to the timetable when traveling.I think it would be fun to go to Sausalito and drink coffee at a cafe, eat cake, or drink beer.I think the boat that goes under the Golden Gate Bridge is also fun. Read morePier 41 in San Francisco is an awesome area to take in the harbor feel and history of such an amazing city.
It offers great views of the city and of Alcatraz and it sits right next to The Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39 (both of which I have also reviewed).
The area offers numerous stores that sell great gifts for friends and family as well as quality outerwear in case it happens to be a cool and or damp day and you need a little extra (happened to me!).
The area also offers fantastic restaurants and other assorted eateries.

Read moreI took the Blue and Gold Ferry from Pier 41 over to Sausalito. I chose to purchase my ticket from the kiosk, not mobile, but you'll need a tic prior to boarding. You cannot board and buy your ticket once inside on the Blue and Gold. It was a nice ride, multi level viewing, inside or out. Snacks and very clean restrooms on board. The best part... besides avoiding a car and bridge tolls, the GG Bridge and City views from the water! And that Golden Gate is just something isn't it?!
