This was no doubt the highlight of my trip! I was responsible for taking a group of Travelers around the Southwest United States in a G Adventures tour. I was super excited to board the amazing Catamaran. From the moment we arrived for our sunset sail, we felt so comfortable. Boarding was just so easy. The Captain and his helper took a few minutes to cover the safety features of the boat, and gave us an idea of what was planned in terms of our route.
As you can imagine, I had an enormous responsibility to ensure my group had a good time. Adventure Cat Sailing Charters pretty much provided me with complete relief! I found myself so relaxed as the sails caught the breeze! Then... The laughter and fun began! I witnessed smiles from ear to ear on every passenger! We had so much fun! The "ohhhhhh's" and the "awes" were constant. We passed Alcatrez and had some amazing photo opportunities. Then, we began going underneath the Golden Gate Bridge! It was simply incredible, beautiful, and amazing. The group was silent as we all looked at the incredible bridge above us. We even saw people walking on the bridge wave at us.
Not to forget!! We had a cheese platter, fruits, and other really tasty treats. They also have a bar on the boat, which really makes life complete! As the sun began to set, we caught some awesome photos of the City and the major landmarks from the water.
Are you a nervous person about getting on a boat? Well, the winds were whipping and the water appeared choppy. But!!! It was amazing smooth! I mean, so smooth I was able to put my ice cold drink on a table and explore the boat, coming back to it still there! I mean, the captain knows how to make that Catamaran glide ever so smooth across the water!
My suggestion? If you are on the fence about booking, take my advice!! Book it!!! It's an absolute blast! Memories that will last forever! Thanks Adventure Cat Sailing!!! I am anxious to get back to San Francisco and take another ride!!!...
Read moreWhat a brilliant adventure to enjoy in SF! I live in SF and had a friend visiting from Portland who LOVES watching the sunset, so I surprised her with this fun experience. The day was chilly and overcast around the bridge… but we loved the adventure, the chance to be outside, and to enjoy the beauty of SF! The boat was very clean and lovely, the staff were so kind and present and efficient at their jobs, and the purchasing of tickets and finding the boat was easy peasy. 10/10 recommend… even on a colder/overcast day.
I loved how long we sailed around the bridge and on the other side of Alcatraz - close to angels island. It was nice to get in all those views and feel like there was plenty of time to look around and not just be focused on one point of view. The 90 minute sail and the smaller boat felt intimate - which I prefer to rushing about and overcrowding! Oh! And the ticket included a bevy on the house - which added to the value.
Be sure to bring some cash to tip the people working! They’ll really appreciate it :)
Oh! And I fake proposed to my friend and someone accidentally got it in a photo hahahaha! A Mom took a picture of her daughter driving the boat and we were in the background making a joke for ourselves - not knowing photos were being taken. The sweet family noticed our engagement when reviewing their photos and offered to send us the photo!!! My friend thought that if someone was to propose where we were standing, no one would notice… so, I ‘proposed’ and could not have proved her more wrong....
Read moreWent on the Adventure Cat yesterday 5.2.25. The Crew was Amazing I had the pleasure of meeting Captain Catrina, Captain Michael and Devo! I had such a great time on the water. I felt right at home as this Native MerMaid LoveKat Devotee SAD Curie tends to be planted on planes, trains, buses and or concrete so the Adventure Cat was A much needed water time on the SF Bay. We had 3 whale sightings that Michael pointed out for our viewing pleasure. A briefing on the Avian Friends Traveling 2 and Fro along with their genus and feeding habits. The Crew was so well versed on the historical sights like the Fog Horn Lighthouse that often gets overshadowed by the Grand Dame of SF 🌁 the Golden Gate and or is completely overlooked by The Rock 🪨 of Alcatraz that everyone wants to sail near. Me personally I tend need to look for the light so naturally I gravitate towards The Fog Horn Lighthouse and Angel Island 😇🏝️ but whatever your Fancy I promise the Adventure Cat will Not Disappoint besides you never know who U might meet at the Bar as Devo summons up amongst deep waters libations, spirits and Cheer!!! 🍾 Hesitant Do Not Be!
