My partner and I came in today for a pre-scheduled appointment for a 90 minute couples massage. We were greeted by friendly humans. We were placed in a room, but we were separated by a curtain. which was not a problem for us. My masseuse came in shortly after and immediately began my massage.My partner on the other hand waited for about 10 minutes before his masseuse decided to show up. Us being divided by a curtain meant that I could hear absolutely every single thing that was said. The woman’s tone of voice was rude from the very beginning. She had taken so long to come into the room, that my partner who had lower back pain was in a supine position. She asked him to roll over in prone position, as he was doing that. Hewas supine because his lower back was hurting, which she just dismissed and he explained this to her as he repositioned himself. She proceeded to ask him if the pressure was ok ,because she didn’t want to hurt him. Upon arrival he was walking funny . Which she mentioned.He explained to her that he was fine that he was walking funny, because his larger muscles were sore that it was not a joint problem. She continued the massage,and about five minutes later out of the blue she said that she was uncomfortable,because of what he had said ,and that she was stopping the massage. He did absolutely nothing wrong. I was in shock because nothing inappropriate was said during that time. I’m not sure if she has mental health issues or she was just having a hard day. In any case, she embarrassed my partner and made him seem like he had crossed the line with her which was 100% not true. I’m leaving this review because we left disappointed and hurt that my partner was treated like this. we went to another place that we frequent instead. I did not get her name, but she was the only Caucasian woman working there. The rest of the staff were fantastic and friendly. We frequent massage places around the city ,because we want to support businesses in our city. She ruined this for us. Everyone else was fantastic. In spite of this, I would recommend this place. Review edited: After discussing with the manager I was offered a complimentary massage to compensate for the bad experience I had - outlined below. The lady who took care of me this time - I believe her name is Rachel (different person to first massage therapist) was good and kind. She put decent pressure and worked my back well. I left feeling much more relaxed so I updated to four stars because they really made an effort to make a client happy so I appreciate this.

Initial review for prenatal massage : The "props" used to balance my body on one (side as one does for a prenatal) were rough leather pillows that looked like were taken from some couch. Not professional at all and really uncomfortable. I felt like I was sliding all the time and I did not relax at all. I ended up getting tension in my neck because these pillows were not properly aligned, were stiff and of bizzar texture. A bolster or even regular pillows could have done a better job. Very rude. This incident ruined my entire experience. Despite the fact I had already paid the tip, the front desk chased me outside to the car and argued, insisting that I hadn't. I had paid the massage fee before the service, and I sent the tip separately via Venmo after the service. I said I had, but he repeated "No the therapist said she didn't receive the tip". There must have been time lag in transaction, but instead of checking with her again, he detained me for a while though I had to go soon and I was about to get into the car. I cannot believe how rude the whole situation was. First of all, tips are optional and they shouldn't treat their customers as if they are trying to run away without paying the service. His attitude was almost chasing down a thief. Even though I had paid for a good amount of tips (20%), they were just too impatient to check the Venmo notification and chased, argued on the street.
