Had a nice time eating brunch here at Rosemary & Pine.
It’s a small menu, which I like because it’s less decision making for me and allows better quality control. I got the breakfast sando with avocado and a cinnamon swirl pastry.
The cinnamon swirl pastry came out first, with butter and jam, and it was yummy. I didn’t need the butter since it was a croissant, but the jam added a nice fruity flavor with the cinnamon. I ate a bit of it, and wanted to save the rest as dessert after my entree.
The breakfast sando was tall! I needed a knife to cut it in half, and I should’ve just deconstructed it into smaller bites. But I’m no lady when I eat so I just went for it. It was very messy to eat, but it was delicious, especially with some hot sauce. The egg was super fluffy and the English muffin, which was house made, had nicely-crisp edges.
The sandwich was pricey. It was $16, and an extra $3 for avocado. The quality of ingredients was high, but I’m not sure if I’d venture out to the Design District for this sandwich. Maybe if it came with a side, I might be willing. However, their Korean-inspired fried chicken sandwich looks good so I would like to come back and try that.
Service was exceptional! The wait staff came by frequently to check on us and fill our waters. It’s also nicely decorated inside with lots of natural lighting. And they also have outdoor seating.
They’re currently open for brunch only.. they close at 2pm each day. I would like to come back to try their...
Read moreupdated 9/2024: came to their new location focusing on brunch. food was still top tier and want it to thrive but it’s low traffic location and brunch focus might not be the right choice. service was also pretty bad - our server focused more on the theatrics and his stories than actually serving us. forgetting our order multiple times, not refilling our water and waiting forever for the cheque.
overall, the food is perfect but need to improve on the other aspects. i want to see this place survive!
avocado toast: fresh ingredients, perfectly toasted sourdough and a great combo of flavors. loved the chili crisp
cinnamon roll: dry and lacked flavor. would recommend switching up pastry vendor.

pricy meal but worth the splurge for special occasions. came here for lunch and cocktails and didn’t disappoint. one of the best cocktail spots in the city!
what’s the dill: so refreshing! perfect cocktail on a sunny day. smooth and creamy drink
clear skies: really enjoyed this one too! reminiscent of a smoky pina colada but not sweet or too sour
ill crispy burrata: really enjoyed this; great combo of crispiness to richness of the burrata to the creamy sauce
vadouvan spaghetti: noodles were al dente, duck was tender, juicy and flavorful, sauce was not too overpowering. overall...
Read moreSunday reservation for brunch scored on a cloudy day did not disappoint. Rock star parking and warm welcome kicked off the great experience.
Sat inside but there is outside seating available.
Pitcher of Paloma 's makes a sunny day, while a pitcher of Pimm' s requires a sunny day. Pitcher with it's own spout arrived filled with a well balanced mixture that went down a bit too easily.
Started with the cod coquettes - soft pillows surrounded with crispy potato chips with hint of malt vinegar. Not a fan of ranch dressing, but the homemade version side on the side with the fresh herbs was a pleasant tasty surprise.
I had the duck gravy, biscuits with hen egg. The egg was a gorgeous and rich yellow, biscuit dense and crisp and the gravy rich and flavorful. I suggest a nice grind of black pepper to cut through all that richness. Partner in crime has the soft scrambled eggs, side of crispy potatoes and smoky bacon on suggestion by another staff members. Everything was done well, however, one note and needed something to complement or cut the richness.
Will be back and highly recommend!!
