Previously had hand surgery with Dr. Lin: 5+ stars . This time I was 11 minutes late, plus was given questionnaire to fill out, which was nevet mentioned when appointment was made. Then front desk stated giving me CPT codes to be given to my PTP. After I already paid $25 co-payments, and was roomed, Thomas Saun showed up and was a bit rude, told that I was late and Dr. Buntic was already gone for the day. Appointment was brief, Dr. Saun didn't go over imaging done in E.R. , told me that I can reschedule to see Dr. Buntic. Then told me that it seems to be resolved, didn't make a brace, told me that Hand therapy clinic does that. I listen to his advice to return to my aquatic therapy and sauna thermal contrast therapy. My wrist got swollen after 15 minutes in sauna to the point that I beraly was able to remove the factory made brace. New bruising and swelling showed up. More supervision and imaging, because ligament damage is not seen on xrays or fluoro he did in the clinic. Night and day , when compared to my previous experiences at the clinic!!! I called the clinic, when realized that I would be late. All of the information about not availability of Dr. Buntic, plus the questionnaire could have been emailed in advance. No humanity , no attention to detail or other injuries were reviewed. Now, I must deal with insurance, and reschedule with Dr. Buntic anyways, as MRI might be needed. Very disappointing and waste of time!!! Tomas Saun's bedside mannets are non existent. Like I said before, night and day difference with my previous experiences at this clinic. Looking forward to seeing Dr. Buntic. Once again: questionnaire should have been emailed, lock of availability of Dr. Buntic could have been disclosed when I called the clinic and notified of being late due to unsafe road conditions, not after I paid co-pay and spent 20 minutes filling out paperwork. . Unpleasant and unexpected , really bad...
Read moreIf you have an HMO, avoid at all costs. This was the worse experience I have had with a front desk in my life. I came in with a hand emergency to see Dr. Lin for about 15 minutes. Before I was allowed to see him his staff at the front desk were very disorganized and required a pre-payment of $350 because I did not have my HMO referral yet given it was an emergency. The front desk (Tian) on a phone call with me which should have been recorded assured me that as soon as the referral was cleared, I would get a refund of the prepayment given my copay was only $25. She said it would take a few days.
When I got the referral cleared a few days later, I called back and they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. The office manager, Colleen Fuller, was incredibly rude on the phone, indicating that 1) they never told me that and I’m lying 2) my claim was denied and Buncke was not in network and 3) they had a right to charge me $1,300 for the 15 min appointment and I should be grateful they aren’t.
All of these things were false. In fact, they had just submitted the claim wrong because of their disorganization. I called my insurance many times over the course of many months to finally get this resolved - turns out, my insurance had paid Buncke in full months earlier, and they still hadn’t refunded me until I called multiple times.
Do not come here - find another hand surgeon. I raised these concerns to Dr. Lin and he was initially responsive and then ignored me and deferred to his staff. Even just the front desk person who answers the phone (Vanessa) is unfriendly. I feel this office took advantage of me as a vulnerable patient, gave me some misinformation and refused to acknowledge blame. Even if I still needed to wait MONTHS for my refund, this all could have been water under the bridge if Tian admitted she was wrong, and Colleen and team apologized for the misinformation rather than...
Read more"MY HEROES", Dr. Nguyen and associates were the kindest and most amazing neurosurgeons of any other. My experience with the Bunke clinic and it's staff was the best I could have asked for. They saved my hand, and I will forever be grateful for the excellent care I recieved from them. The injury I received to my left wrist and hand was so bad that I was NOT expected to have much use of it at all. I live in northern California and an hour from the Bunker Clinic. The trauma I sustained was such that there weren't any Doctors available, or able (in my area, Santa Rosa, CA.) to repair my hand. I was lovingly restored to health and sanity (lol) at the Bunker clinic, by their amazing staff. My hand just keeps getting better and better. I hurt myself almost 19 months ago and I have still been able to call and receive help and answers to questions; no matter how trivial I may think they are, any time. I was almost in shock when Dr. Bunke himself phoned me, about 2 weeks ago, after I had been having a lot of pain when I accidentally hit my wrist against my dresser. He was kind and funny and extremely humble, with nothing but help and information for me. Thank you Dr. Bunke, your colleagues and associates are some of the best in the world as far as I'm concerned. Forever Grateful, Kathleen...
