Disappointing Experience with Noel - Great Barber, Poor Customer Service
I had high hopes when I started getting haircuts from Noel, but my recent experiences have been nothing short of frustrating. Two weeks ago, I took time off from work to get a haircut at 10 AM, the shopâs opening time, and when Noel said heâd be available. I arrived at 10 AM, only to be told he wouldnât be in until 1 PM. After rearranging my schedule and returning at 3 PM, I was told heâd be free in 10 minutes, but I ended up waiting a full hour before he could actually give me a cut. While I appreciated the discount he gave me for the wait, the experience was still disappointing.
Fast forward two weeks, I called the shop the day before my next appointment to make sure Noel would be there at 10 AM. I didnât want to risk taking time off work again without a guarantee that heâd show up. The employee I spoke to was rude, dismissive, and even gaslighted me, claiming Noel was always there on time, which was clearly not true based on my last visit. Nonetheless, I trusted their word and planned for the next day.
On my way to the shop, Noel called me to inform me that he didnât appreciate me âquestioningâ his schedule and that I was now blacklisted from the shop! He didnât bother to understand why I was confirming his availabilityâafter he failed to show up on time last time, it seemed entirely reasonable to make sure heâd be there. Iâve never had such an unreasonable reaction from any barber or business.
While Noel is a skilled barber, his customer service is severely lacking. Itâs important in any business to treat customers with respect and not make rash decisions. Unfortunately, by blacklisting me over something so minor, Noel has lost a loyal, recurring customer who always tipped well.
Noel, I hope you learn that cool heads prevail in the end. Wishing you the best, but Iâll be taking my...
Read moreOut of 6 total visits I have had 3 good experiences. So 50% of the times, I wasn't happy paying 60$. Now take your call. Instance 1: I reached at Shop at 10:06, there was a girl who attended me and I asked for this particular guy. I also mentioned if he is going to take time, I can get it done from you. She was nice and polite. She mentioned he will be here by 10:09. I waited till 10:17. Dude shows up, and leaves right away to smoke vape or idk for what as he always smells of vape. I call him and say hy buddy I am kikda getting late for hospital appointment, can you please come in I saw you leaving rn. He says i am in traffic not realising I just saw him inside. And says, if you pressure me i will not cut your hair. Audacity? I never even pressurised this cocky kid. This was my latest visit and I decided to move on from this place for good finally. Anyway I only came here becauE it was closest to me.
Instance 2: Same young kid who I like to get my haircut from 16-18 year old who smells of vape all the time, told me if you tell me how to cut hair and not trust me then I will not cut your hair. I had no clue how to react to a kid who is sococky.
Instance 3: Different guy this time, he mentioned he is from New york and did some barber scjolling there. Long story short, when I reached my room, my friends laughed at the fade and said this is the worst fade they have ever seen. I was in hurry so i didn't pay attention during the cut and lighting was so dim so you could barely see properly.
I am done with this place for good. Save your money. Staff is very unprofessional and charges like they are a premium barber shop. Only thing that is good about the shop is layout...
Read moreHaving moved in to a nearby apartment complex not too long ago, this was my 4th visit to 028. My first three visits were excellent. Great cuts, great conversation, and an all around friendly atmosphere. This one wasn't. My hairdresser/barber seemed the most disinterested in my cut and honestly just used the clippers as quickly as they possibly could, having touched the shears/scissors maybe once for a total of 5 seconds (and they couldn't figure out how to use them properly and gave up soon). I was also charged for a cut+wash (which I have always gotten) and a beard trim and I was ushered out without the wash. Note : There were 45 mins left till business close time and I was the only customer. During the beard trim, the moustache was very conveniently ignored and left untouched making it seem weird with a different length than the beard. The hairdresser seemed to be in such a bad mood that I didn't even bring it up. It looked like they were having a bad day, but having that turn into a bad experience for the customer certainly wasn't welcome.
I ended up paying 70$ for really bad service (40$ for the haircut and wash, the wash I didn't even get. 20$ for the beard trim, with that too incomplete with the moustache. 10$ for the tip).
I've had such great experiences here the last 3 times that I'm so conflicted and disappointed about this one. On one hand I would love to visit again, on the other today's experience was so bad that I would think twice unless it were a dire situation.
