Went in for color touch up with Landon. Before and after look exactly the same.
The good parts: They are personable and good people. Offered me a little discount because the service did not go as expected.
The not so good parts: I am out by nearly $120 and spent 2.5 hrs at the salon, but the before and after looked exactly the same.
Had my scalp burning but couldn’t tell them sooner as they were multi tasking with other clients. They eventually washed it and used a different color afterwards.
The actual color application was done mostly on the scalp, even though I specifically asked them to only lightly touch the hair towards the roots to avoid damage, and I mainly wanted it done on the rest of the hair because those were the parts I couldn’t reach by myself.
Hair wash: This was a relief with the cold water, but I realized later that there was left over color at the bottom near the neck. And color left on my skin in multiple places. No big deal though as I was able to wash it out.
Hair blowout: This one took a super long time there. They used high heat and did the same section multiple times, even after I asked them to reduce the heat a few times. It only takes me 5-10 minutes to do my hair as my hair dries very quickly.
They did not use any form of heat protective spray prior to blow drying.
I couldn’t wait to get back home and wash my hair immediately, and also condition it well, because of all the damage it got. My scalp was burning through the night and the next day as well, it took a while for it to calm down.
Parking: It’s so difficult to find parking here and there’s no validation. Account for an additional 40min or so if you go.
Ultimately I was out for nearly half a day after more than a month of waiting, out by nearly $120, and still need to go to a salon again to get this done.
I should add that I didn’t have any scalp burning before and I colored my hair multiple times.
Edit: In the 2-3 days following the visit, my skin started peeling off and became very flaky, I never had that happen before.
Responding to the reply from the salon. The last henna use(pure powered form directly from the plant leaves, and absolutely no metallic salts), was in 2020. It is more than five years ago. It is irrelevant for this service that I requested, although I did make them aware. I have only ever used high quality, ammonia and ppd free color prior. Also no metallic salts.
The review was focusing only on the service I requested for and could not receive, but ended up paying for. The $120 is the amount paid after the small discount, which I did mention in my...
Read moreI have been to this salon couple times now, the experience just go worse and worse. For the last one, I booked an appointment on June 22nd for a root to end full color for August 23rd, which is the same treatment I booked the first time. All of sudden I got an email on August 18th stating that I have booked the wrong service, if I want to get the same treatment as the first time, I will have to book an hourly service that they are not sure how long it will take… for context, I have not colored my hair since my last treatment one year ago, and I’m simply wanting to achieve a medium brown on my hair, I don’t understand why I will need to book a color correction service at all. So I emailed back and asking why this time is different, why it was not communicated after my first treatment and their answer is that the stylist that did my hair before was new and did not know the difference of the treatment and went ahead and did it anyways… then I further ask why this was not communicated when I booked the appointment back in June. They claims that they tried calling and texting for the past month, I did not respond but turns out that they had the wrong number of mine, just the area code though instead of 206 they had 260.. I have been living in Seattle for quite some years now, there is no way I would typed in the wrong area code… so yeah.. I was very disappointed at that time already, I found the communication to be very unprofessional and decided to cancel my appointment. Thought this will stop here… then their owner called me the next day and asked to chat, I was in the middle of something so I asked her to email me instead, her email was polite, but basically stated that I put in the wrong number therefore they cannot contact me and they really tried so it’s my fault really, not exact word but hmmm okay.
So I decided to book an appointment from a different salon and before I booked, I walked into their salon and asked if I need a color correction service, they were like, no your hair is super simple, just book a root to end...
Read moreEdit- I was called back by the salon after I mentioned that their keratin treatment didn’t work on my hair, they gave me a second treatment free and put the blame on my shampoo. I told them the de fabulous shampoo I had used even before during my previous keratin treatments but the hairdresser made a weird face when I didn’t buy the shampoo from their store. They were trying to sell another shampoo and conditioner. . Now almost 4 months later I got another keratin from a different salon and my hair looks excellent, yes I used the same shampoo to wash my hair. So I guess it’s not my shampoo. The pictures speak for itself- first one is keratin treatment from a differentsalon and second wavy pic is just the day after washing at Sensa salon. I would not have edited my review if the hairdresser wasn’t so rude to me, I want them to understand that customers are not fools, and no matter what shampoo we use the treatment can’t just wash off with the first wash. some shampoos might wash off the treatment faster but no shampoo can wash it off on first wash. Please check what kind of products you are using at your salon, coz the other salon had a similar price range but their treatment worked. Previous review- I had got keratin express treatment 2 days ago, as instructed I washed my hair after more than 48 hours. My hair looks exactly the same it did before I had got the treatment done. This is the 4th time that I am doing a keratin treatment and normally they have lasted at least 2-3 months, this is the worst experience I had only at sensa salon. I am not sure what did they do to my hair or if they used a product which was expired. Nothing about my hair feels like a keratin treatment done just 2-3 days ago- my hair is frizzy as before and not even shiny. It just the same. Also I feel that they overcharged me - the stylist only trimmed the ends of my hair, no new cut or full haircut. But they charged 70 USD just to get the ends trimmed. I will not go back...
