Boat Tours Seattle — Local services in Seattle

I was fortunate enough to take a few tours on "The Endeavour," the flagship of Boat Tours Seattle, during a brief stint in the Emerald City from 2015-2016.

The captain Derek and his crew were nothing but hospitable, knowledgeable about the surrounding environs, and you know what? They're a damned good time. There's music, laughter, and adventure to be had. You might fall in the waters, but you know what? You might fall in love with the city of Seattle, too.

This may be an ad for Seattle as well. There's nothing like Lake Union in the summer, surrounded by mountains, sea planes, the Sound, and of course the vibrant neighborhoods of Ballard and Fremont (AKA the Center of the Universe).

Go by yourself. Go with a friend. Bring mom and pop. Bring anyone, and enjoy yourself in this fun and unique experience. I did it....twice.

I only have one regret about my trips with Captain Derek and his fine ship Endeavour - I wish I had've gotten married on that boat. A union on Lake Union! ...

My weekend trip on the Endeavor was just the mini adventure I needed to recooperate from life as a desk jockey. We went to Lake Washington and felt far from the din of the city within an hour. Captain Derek is the grizzled, charming sailor of your dreams, sailing expertly and creating a relaxed atmosphere that was just what the doctor ordered. If you are looking to get out and learn a bit about sailing and just have fun, then I would definitely recommend taking a trip with Captain Derek Swart.
