Finally! A place that’s still open after 8pm! On a street that was mostly dark, their light continued to shine brightly, welcoming me in when I needed sustenance the most, at such a late hour of 10pm. I found this hidden gem on a Thursday night, braced myself for the potential that the kitchen would already be closed or would close soon, and was absolutely stunned to find that they were open until 11pm. Most of Fremont had shut down for the night, but not this place. Their long hours alone gave me great joy. Now let’s get to the food. I got chicken strips, pop, coleslaw, curly fries, an Italian soda, and 2 sliders (had to try both) for less than $30 including tip. Honestly not bad for that variety and way better than the fast food I could have settled for. The staff was so nice! They answered my dumb questions and even though it was late, had such kind demeanors and maintained a superior level of customer service. I skedaddled when I was done consuming my delicious meal and wished them a good night so that they could finally start their closing process after 12 long hours of service. The last dine-in order is at 10:30pm per their website, and I left well before that since I literally inhaled my food. And here’s some good news for my socially inept introverts or people with social anxiety…you don’t even need to talk to anyone to get your food! (But you should because they’re great) During my visit, there was a tablet for ordering and paying. No socializing needed to get food aside from saying thank you when they call you up for it. Again, I only talked to them because I had questions. I pride myself, and whether I should or not is irrelevant, on being a connoisseur of sushi and chicken strips. Having had so many different kinds of chicken strips in my lifetime, some of which were practically inedible but I ate them regardless, let me tell you, these were some S-tier strips. Scrumptious. The sliders were good too and I got my sugar fix with that Italian soda. They don’t have WiFi, but I survived and without that minute factor that most people don’t even consider when picking a restaurant, I had a lovely time. I will be returning soon. There’s another Just Burgers location in the U-District but contrary to some other reviews, they’re not a chain. Let me repeat, they are not a chain. They’re a local business that happens to have 2 locations and this review is solely for the one that’s a neighbor to the Fremont Troll. I look forward to going to the other location one day to see if I have a similar experience, one which was so hospitable and tasty. tl;dr I was hungry somewhat late at night and this place was open, yummy, satisfying both my sweet and savory palate, and best of all, cheap, considering the area

1. Burgers are nothing to write home about, burned a bit, not a lot of vegetables, which are available as paid add ons. Rather on a pricier end for such a casual joint. Our bill for two burgs, a fountain drink and a can of beer was $46+ before tipping, that didn't include fries or salads. For this price you get a decent pub burger with sides and drinks. I couldn't get rid of a light feeling of being scammed (but that is my subjective opinion). 2. A small service fee is included before the tipping option. You order on a screen, pick up your food and clean up your table after, so I am not sure what kind of service should be paid for. 3. The gate wall to the street is open and it's pretty chilly, you are pretty much kind of eating outside. I don't like that as I always feel that they want you to get out fast. And it's just not comfortable. 4. Despite the open wall, high ceiling and loud fans above the grilling area, the entire place is filled with smoke and you sit in this fog stinking up your clothes. The server lady was friendly.

For the next stop on Tour de Fry (follow me for fry reviews) Order style: for here "Crispy" Fries: A few in to are crispy, but the ones in the cup get soggy fast from heat. The potato ratio also doesn't make them the crispiest fry I've had. But I appreciate the whispy crispy coating. The seasoning is sort of lacking and inconsistent. Garlic Fries: Same regular fry with a spoonful of marinated minced garlic, with hints of fish sauce. Ordered 4 fry sauces, the best one to us was Honey Mustard. Fry Value = Not good imo - as in its really expensive for a small cup compared to other nearby Seattle places of similar flavor and texture vs. amount of fries for the cost. Hamburger (classic): Really good!! Probably my favorite burger on my tour de fry so far. While I wouldn't come here if I had a fry craving, I would come here for a good burger craving (but expensive burgers). P.s. In order to get a "house pickle" you pay $1 to actually get 2 tiny slices of cucumber soaked in vinegar. Sad bananas on the value for that item as well.

Excellent burger -- great quality meat, hot, juicy, greasy. It was just what I was looking for. I ordered the Southwest burger and was pleasantly surprised by the jalapenos, as I like spicy food. I also ordered Garlic fries, which were good too. Portions were right (except the drink was small, but okay because refillable).

Overall, the food was definitely a level above a regular burger joint. My only complaint was the price -- for one combo meal, it was about $16, which seemed a little more than I wanted to pay (though in reading the other review responses, it seems meat prices, supply chain, inflation, etc. have driven prices up). Also, the condiment selection could have been more robust. There was just one option: ketchup. How about including a custom fry sauce as an option (combines ketchup and mayo into one blend)?

The in-dining atmosphere seemed plain and could have used some more Fremont decor. I mean, you're in a stylish part of town. Celebrate that, even if your theme is "just burgers." This part of town sits right on the ship canal. Why not include some ship canal motif into the burger atmosphere? At any rate, this is a great place to get a...
