Novabox Karaoke — Local services in Seattle

The moment we walked in, the strong scent of Pine-Sol was noticeable—at least the place felt clean. However, the atmosphere was immediately awkward, and the lobby area seemed odd, leaving us unsure of what was going on. The staff, though, were very kind and guided our group to our room promptly.

The room, advertised as medium-sized, felt cramped for a group of 9-14 people. It reminded me of sitting inside a limousine, with a large bench along one wall and the TV and sound system on the opposite wall. The setup felt quite limiting. The karaoke system was not user-friendly—the song selection process was cumbersome, with the QR code leading to a menu in what appeared to be Chinese. It took us nearly 20 minutes to figure things out, which felt like wasted time. To make matters worse, some songs displayed without lyrics, adding to the frustration. The staff did attempt to assist, but their efforts didn't resolve much, leaving me thinking we might have been better off doing karaoke at home.

That said, once we got the music going, we managed to have a great time despite the challenges. We made the best of the situation, laughing and singing together. Drinks had to be ordered from outside the room, but the staff brought them promptly, which was appreciated.

This place has so much potential to be a great karaoke spot, but it needs a lot of work.

The good. The vibe of the karaoke bar is wonderful. The room I rented for my friends and I was very spacious! Decent location in Seattle.

The bad. The song selection process is not good. Finding a song using the first letter of each word in a song is a terrible way to search. And the song selection is confusing in which there are multiple versions of a song in the same language by the same artist, but I don't know the difference. The videos that sometimes show with a song are weird in that it's not the music video of the song. They're like random videos that sometimes have nothing to do with a song. The reservation system needs some work. I rented the room for 2 hours, but staff came in, 45 minutes before my end time, saying we had to leave. I asked them to double check, and they did apologize for the mix up.

Had a great time here recently. The vibe was cool and the rooms were roomy (although a bit cold). Was sad that we couldn’t bring our own food and drinks, given there were pretty much no food options and very limited drink options. Music queueing system was pretty confusing but we were able to mostly find what we searched for. I liked that the music videos played on screen with the lyrics. SADLY — there were no songs from the last couple years as far as I could tell. We were shocked to find that there were no Chappell Roan songs 💔 one of our mics had no battery but I appreciated the mic covers. Would have loved some optional laser lights and fun things like tambourines (i might just be more familiar with Korean-type karaoke places). The staff was very kind and replaced our mic that had no battery. They were also very responsive on social media for scheduling. Thank you!!!! Look forward to returning once Chappell...
