Such a shame. In all the years I’ve shopped at Sportsman Warehouse at various locations, I was really excited about the Seminole location. I called this morning and talked to a gentleman to inquire about a specific rod from the website to see first if they actually had inventory. The gentleman not only told me they had inventory but also confirmed the price, which was exactly from the website. However, I drove a distance after work and started looking for the specific rod, as discussed and to find out they actually did not have it. The gentleman saw me in the store looking at the fishing rods and asked if I was the person who he spoke to this morning. I said yes and he said, “unfortunately he made a mistake” and apologized and that he wanted to call me back but did not know my phone number, so I would not make the drive. I informed this sales associate that I quickly found out as I was looking that they did not have the rod I was inquiring and they only had this particular brand/model in casting versus spinning. The sales associate asked his peers in the fishing department and the other 3 sales associates said the rods I was looking at were spinning. I told all of them to come back to the rod rack and I showed everyone how to actually tell the difference between a casting rod versus a spinning rod. I also educated them on how to read the manufacture model number to tell the difference between casting vs spinning. I explained to the sales associate that I drove a distance and was quite upset. The sales associate asked me what he could do. I told him if you could find a rod comparable to what I was inquiring and reduce the price to comparable reasons, that would suffice. The sales associate said let me see what he could do and look in the back. I waited awhile for his return. Meanwhile, the other 3 sales associates kept talking and conjugating together and occasionally show me a suggested rod. I ended up telling the others that those suggested rods aren’t comparable. The original sales associate returned and made a few suggestions but again I told him spec wise, they weren’t comparable. He offered to place one on order if I could wait and I informed him I needed the rod and could not wait a few weeks. I simply told him that I knew Dick’s Sporting Goods had inventory and I would go there. It really is a shame as I specifically drove quite a distance based upon what I was told. I understand we all make mistakes but they didn’t even try hard enough to make the situation right. It was very obvious the sales associates did not know the products. I will still shop at Sportsman Warehouse but not this location. Now having to make a long drive back, only to be empty handed. One very...
Read moreWent in to buy a handgun. Approached a guy in the gun dept and was told I needed to see another guy. Two more guys behind gun counter. Both were helping customers. After waiting 10 minutes one sales guys was free. He looked at me standing not three feet away and turned to walk away. I called to him. He came back, looking irritated. I knew what pistol I wanted to see and pointed it out. They had two in the case with different model numbers but identical. I asked him what was different. He said, "I don't know. I'm not familiar with Beretta handguns." Followed up with a blank stare. I figured out the difference was a subtle color difference. So I asked him if he could remove the trigger lock, so I could feel the trigger pull. He said "yes, but that I shouldn't dry fire it." I realize excessive dry firing is not good. But one or two pulls to feel it out is not going to damage it. So I didn't. I knew it was the gun I wanted. I had a gift card and Beretta was offering a rebate. So I said I'd take it. He took the gun, walked to the end of the counter and took a phone call. I spent the next ten minutes watching Bevis fiddle with the gun while helping another customer on the phone. Finally another guy asked to help me. By this time unbeknownst to me Bevis had given my gun to another guy, (The first guy that said he couldn't help me), to go in back and get the box and accessories. Another 10 minutes waiting for that guy to come out with the box. This only happened after a third guy went to find him. Finally, I got to the background check paperwork. After it was done the third guy said the ATF was slow, so I said no problem, I'll go grab some lunch. Back to the store after 90 minutes. Still no word from ATF. I told the sales guy to forget it. I walked out empty handed. Granted I could have gone back the next day. And the store can't control the ATF. But I live over 50 miles away. This was my second trip to S.W. I'll never go back. Lazy, no product knowledge, borderline rude employees. Back...
Read moreIf you don’t plan on ever needing service, then not bad. But if you need service look elsewhere…. Anywhere. The only guy that seemed to care about a happy customer satisfaction “no longer work here.” I bought a gun on their online store, had to pick it up at the store. Went as smooth as I’d hoped-for first-time gun purchase. Month later gun had a problem. Took it back to the store. Had to wait for Pete the only “gun guy” to get in. The rest are salesmen. Within 5 minutes, he determined it was a manufacture defect need to be returned to factory for repair. This was the last good thing. Pete had to go to meeting with the store manager, left the sales guys (5) to do the paperwork. Over an hour and a half, I sat waiting for them to find the form needed to do the return. Refused to ask Pete if he knew. To afraid they would “get chewed out by the store manager again” for interrupting a meeting. I finally told them I had to get to work. I came back the next day, waited another hour while they figured out how to do the form. It was Pete’s day off. Month later, I called to check, was told it had not been sent out yet. Was still sitting on the shelf.2 weeks later (Month and half), stopped in the store talked to Pete it had gone out the day after I called. He apologies for the delay, tells me when I pick it up, he will give me some ammo or a holster or something to “make it right”. 2 months 4 days, after dropping it off, I get a call It’s back, come pick it up. Next day, go in to pick it up, Pete the only “gun guy” “no longer works here”, said something about he offered me the ammo or something to make it right. Guy looked at me like I was crazy said “first I’ve heard of it” and blew me off, had to sign for it and have another background check done….Then charged me for the background check to pick...
