Unfortunately...the Bargain Barn has a very poor ability to Service any basic problems you may have...to do with the poor quality of some of their foods sold there. Just DAYS after (and possibly ON this food in the bag when I bought it) I purchased some bagged food there, it appeared as I looked at this hard food product what looked like multiple "green spots" - apparent MOLD on these items! Ick!! When I returned these 3 bagged items to the store, receipt in hand, the response by the Owner was not one of "oh, let me take that & try to find out what is wrong with that item...yes, sorry for this issue" ...but rather, I got, "oh, we can't take that one bag back...because it is opened!" Huh, I said? This is your product here; it's bad. These were hard food cookies, not supposed to have "green spots" on them, obviously, and "no, I did not leave them out in the heat..." (as accused of doing, also, at the time of return). The reactions I got at the CHEAP SERVICE & POOR QUALITY ("BARGAIN") BARN were basically that of the blame for THEIR FOOD QUALITY PROBLEM being placed back on me, a repeat happy customer btw, prior to this sad event, never complaining before & actually touting this store as being great to many of our friends...until now, that is. Listen, if you sell me a problem & I bring it back to you, for help not blame, you ought to THANK ME for putting up with "your problem" with a bad food item, not refuse to help me - like I'm trying to cheat you out of some past food sale or something! I wasn't there to cause big problems, just to find out what was wrong with this food item I had bought - there - that couldn't be eaten. You shouldn't try to blame me for your product quality issue, upon return of it direct to you. Then, the Owner took my # and one piece of the food product - but not the bag of it, as she refused to allow its' return, it being "already opened & mostly gone" she said - to check with the manufacturer WHY this food product has what looks to be MOLD on it, just after purchase there. She said, too, she would call me right away her findings on this. She never did. Wow! Maybe this cheap store NEEDS the Health Dept.'s help on this type issue - for selling MOLDY items to the public & then not wanting to help (even their loyal Customers) find out why? BAD SERVICES FOR GOOD CUSTOMERS AT THE BARGAIN BARN!! Not a place I want to eat food from now & certainly not a place I want to be blamed openly for trying to help them by returning food bought there that has "green spots" all in it, either! Read moreThis store has alot of fair prices on goods, however the staff was very rude on my first and last visit. You may purchase items by the case or individually. The store has 2 signs in the store stating to ask for help separating cases. I failed to do so because I never saw the signage due to the sign placement. The store clerk stated he should charge me for the entire case due to me opening one case of peppers. The signage on the product I purchased gave you the option to purchase a case or singles. The cashier was very rude and unprofessional. I do not recommend based on how unprofessional the employees are to new customers. I'm editing this review to respond to the owners reply. The response indicates 10+ signs, however I asked where the signs were located after the transaction and the cashier took me and showed me 2 Not 10+. He pointed at one in the middle of the store on a post and one on a box of Styrofoam cups that he violently ripped off to prove his point. This isn't a review to slander the store, however this is a review to give a truthful review of a very negative experience at this location. This location had a sign on the front door limiting cases of water to a maximum of 10 cases. We saw that sign, and I'd make a reasonable recommendation to post a sign upon entry of the store to disclose the other...
Read moreI have been to this store many times before. I used to like this location better than the one in Newport. I've always had a pleasant experience until now. Two separate trips now I have noticed that a new young male employee staring at me and following me especially if he thought my husband was not around. I brought this to the cashier's attention. And was told "He is not following you. He is just walking around." He then asked what I wanted him to do about it.
