This was our first time eating here. This will be our very last time eating here also. My Wife, I, 2 kids and 2 friends decided to have a mini vacation in Tennessee. We drove 4 hours for a stay of 3 days. On the second day we were looking for a nice place to have dinner and El Paso online had great reviews. So we decided this would be our dinner place. Once we got there, they seated us for a table of 6. They gave us 4 menu's instead of 6. We had to ask for 2 extra menu's. As we sat there waiting for our food, we realized there were flies and little bugs flying around the chips and salsa. We did not think anything of it because every place has flies coming inside after customers come in. But what made us angry was after 5 mins of my daughter plate was placed infront of her. She realized their was a bug crawling around in her rice. One of our friends took the plate to the front and showed them the issue. They apologized and gave my daughter another thing of rice. After seeing the bug crawling around in the first rice order, my daughter did not want to eat the second order.
Now if your not into spicy foods, then I would not recommend El Paso here. Everything from the bean dip to the Salsa and the food on the plates, had a strong spicy kick to it.
One thing I can say that was pretty good was the drinks. They did not have the wine my wife wanted from the menu, but she was able to find something else. My kids also loved the deserts.
We were the last customers and we had to find them to ask for the check. A check were they did not take anything off for having bugs in my child's rice. I was so disappointed in this restaurant.
So if your ok with spicy food, bugs flying around, good drinks and good desserts, then this is the place for you.
We will definitely not visit here again on our next vacation...
Read moreThe food is great and came out quickly despite us having a large party. Our server was so kind and there was hardly any wait. My reason for only giving 3 stars is because of how my teenage daughter was treated by staff. It was my little niece and nephews birthday we were celebrating. My niece mentioned to the server that last week was my daughter’s birthday which the adults deliberately didn’t say anything about because she doesn’t want food wiped on her face. They came out to sing and put hats on the kids head. My daughter was fine wearing the hat but stated she didn’t want anything put on her face. One of the other lady’s continued trying to reach her face despite her turning her head away, saying no and putting her hand up to block the lady. Because we had adjoining tables and my daughter was sitting against the wall, the lady climbed on the booth behind her to reach and smeared whipped cream down the front of her new shirt instead. This happens all of the time in Mexican restaurants and I will never understand why when someone says no, it’s blatantly ignored. People should be able to enjoy a meal for their birthday if they choose without having food smeared in their face and especially not on their clothes. It’s pretty well known that this is done at Mexican restaurants on birthdays but if someone is actively saying no and trying to move away from you, maybe respect their boundaries and wishes. It’s just distasteful and ruined...
Read moreLook at these portion sizes! First shown are the border fajitas; served with a portion of the pineapple over a steaming bed of food! This included steak, onions, mushrooms and pineapple and then the additions of rice, guac, lettuce, sour cream as seen on the side. While this was not my dish, the family member who had this said it was excellent and she took half of it home as her lunch for the next day. The middle picture is the super chicken chimichanga with red sauce instead of queso - this was my daughter and husband's choice. They don't eat beans so asked for extra rice instead. Both said it was excellent. The far right picture is steak fajitas with everything as shown. The flavor was excellent! It comes with 3 hot flour (or corn) tortillas. We were there on a Tuesday and their daily specials are wonderful options if you were to choose that. My dad had a regular margarita (instead of the special), which meant it was stronger. It was too strong for me, but he liked it. He got a combination meal with 2 tacos, 1 enchilada and a burrito which was excellent and was enough to have some leftovers. My son had a standard chicken and cheese quesadilla which he said was good. Their salsa is very very good!! I don't eat beans so I can't comment on the bean dip or the refried beans. Their rice is tasty too. The locals recommended this place and I concur - make this a stop if you're staying in...
