Live in Nashville, but come back to MD every two months for a couple of weeks for work, and stay with my sister and her family in Parkton, MD. Well earlier in the week I felt a sinus infection building up. Normally get 2 sinus infections per year, but in 2020, missed them both. Come Friday, it was in full effect, and had to get somewhere to get looked at and hopefully the right meds that usually work for me. Decided to go North to Shrewsbury instead of South to Hunt Valley / Cockeysville. So glad that I did. At check-in there were 2 people in front of me, but I guess once you are in their system, you give them your symptoms, then just wait. My first time, it took about 15 minutes to get checked in with all of the info needed, and the lady at the front desk kept apologizing how long it was taking, but it really wasn't, or did not take long at all. Went out to car to wait for a call, and waited no more than 10 minutes or so. Got into room and was greeted by a young woman, that went through all of the vitals and actually had a brief conversation while going through them. Once she got the vitals and heard symptoms, she agreed it sounded like a sinus infection. About 10 minutes later the doctor, Jeffrey Leach, came in. Asked about my symptoms, explained that I usually get two sinus infections per year, then he checked my breathing, throat, etc. He then said it definitely looks like a sinus infection, and actually asked me how my doctor usually treats it, and if it worked. I told him which meds I usually get which work, he immediately called them into the local CVS, and I was on my way. Great experience from beginning to end from the entire staff! Hopefully I do not need to use them again while in town for work, but if needed, will go...
Read moreOn January 5, 2025 went to the Urgent Care on Sofia Dr Shrewsbury pa. While being registered I was advised that they Do Not Except Medicare Humana Advantage plan at Urgent Care Facilities! I ask what the fee would be for self pay and was advised that they can Not overide the system. Jennifer advised me that i could go to Wellspan ED And they could help me. Because they can’t refuse medical care! I did voice my opinion on what a poor policy this was. Telling Jennifer that my frustration was not directed at her, but she needed to let management hear tbe patients frustration on this ridiculous policy! I would have paid Cash for the service. I tried searching on line for Wellspan customer Service phonw number but had no luck. Called back to Urgent Care and again had a conversation with Jennifer asking her for a customer service phone number. Jennifer became unprofessional and confrontational in regards to my stance that the policy was poor to say the least. She began to tell me that i could of gone else where. Jennifer remember patients pay your salary! Arguing with a patient who is expressing frustratiin for a Ridiculous policy denying medical help to a sick person because the system will not let you override a cash payment. Question what happens when someone doesn’t have insurance how do you override the system? A patient help resolve a problem for the future it’s not your place to argue about it. Your place is to take the recommendation and the information back to management. Remember, you’re dealing with sick people who don’t feel good. It’s your job to listen Rude and defensive. WellSpan needs to do better and serve the Community that’s why they’re here! Do better well span with policy and training rude employees to do better when dealing with...
Read moreHad to visit this location 4 times over a 7 week period as I started with a sinus infection, which turned into thrush, which turned into bronchitis. Every single time I went there, even without a prescheduled appointment, I only waited about 5 minutes before being taken back. Within a few short minutes someone was in to take my vitals and they were all very compassionate, kind, and concerned. Special shout out to Sunday who took my vitals on more than one visit. She was sweet and kind and very compassionate. I never waited more than 5/10 minutes for the doctor. Across the visits I saw three separate doctors/physicians Assistants and all were very compassionate, listened to my symptoms and complaints, and provided antibiotics. On my third visit I had Dr. Leach who was great and did not just look at me and write a prescription. He dove deeper into my symptoms, my past experiences, and my health issues. He explained everything in detail and looked for a appropriate solution to my problems. When the bronchitis did not go away following the antibiotics, I went back and saw Dr. Leach again, who remembered me and my situation and was concerned that I was not 100% better. He had x-rays taken in the office within 5 minutes and then went over them with me in detail making suggestions for relief even after I am better. He discussed the options with me and involved me in the solution. He was AWESOME. The place is always neat and clean and ALL staff have always been friendly and professional. I cant recommend this...
