Kirkland's Home — Local services in Slidell

Talk about shopping while black! The staff here, only two women, made me and my fiance' feel so uncomfortable that we left the store after only being there less than 10 minutes. We were followed from the moment we walked through the door up until we left. We were searching for a painting for our home, so we were standing generally in the same area and the employee, who was behind the counter when we walked in, walked up and never left our side. She stood there and stared at the pillows that were next to us, and that's it, she just stared at pillows. She didn't unpack any of the boxes that were next to her, or return back behind the counter like she originally was when we walked in, she just stared at pillows. I thought I was overthinking the whole interaction but guess what? As soon as we headed towards the exit, she left her job of guarding the pillows. It maybe even would've been more acceptable had she asked if we needed help, but she did not. It's really sad because after this interaction, I will never go to Kirkland's again. I love this Kirklands. They have great items. I love the mirrors and framed artwork. They have very cute benches too. There is always a selection of seasonal items as well. I have bought some very nice throws. I have even bought small items like key chains. The only thing I would change is the scent of the potpourri when you enter is very strong, and that bothers my allergies, but that is a personal preference. #handicappedparking...
