We recently started looking for a camera that would allow us to get good shots of our boys during their music performances (our cell phone cameras just couldn't zoom in well enough and the image quality wasn't great). It had been years since I used a decent camera (a Minolta XD-5 many years ago and modest Sony Cyber-Shot models since then) so I went down a rabbit hole of internet research about what might be the best solution (finding out about bridge, DSLR, and mirrorless cameras). After getting buried by info (it had been a generation since I bought a camera), my wife suggested that I quit the research and just talk to some experts. So, we drove across the lake to Green Mountain Camera and I am so glad we did! Markeith, one of the associates, answered all of our questions, patiently explained the cameras that might be best for us, and let us test drive a bunch. We appreciated that he wanted us to find the right camera for our needs -- and one that fit our budget -- and not just sell us a camera. After trying a bunch of cameras, we felt the Nikon Z50II (with the two lens kit) was the best one for us -- it felt great in the hand, had the right specs for our needs, and took amazing photos We brought it home and absolutely love it! It is the perfect upgrade for us from our cell phones. It's so easy to jump right in and get great shots and we have already been exploring different scenes and picture controls (we've taken it everywhere the last few days and have taken a ton of shots). Markeith also got us set up with protective filters for the lenses (a must), an extra battery, and a fast memory card -- all at competitive prices. So, if you're looking for a new camera, you should absolutely visit Green Mountain Camera -- don't buy online, skip the big-box stores, and visit this incredible local business. We are so glad we did and we'll be doing all of our camera-related...
Read moreThis is a review of my very positive experiences with Green Mountain Camera at The Staples Plaza, 861 Williston Rd, South Burlington, VT 05403 and their exceptional Customer Service Representative, Tessa K Ferrario, Operations Manager at Green Mountain Camera.
Over more than half a century of my rewarding adventure with photography, I interacted with many photographic shops and their employees. With no exaggeration of any kind, Tessa’s subject matter knowledge, professional service, her precise guidance and friendly attitude have made my recent transaction with Green Mountain Camera the most pleasurable photographic experience ever. I recently purchased the 2020 Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III from Green Mountain Camera and traded-in my old Nikon system. Tessa effectively guided me thru all the steps in that process, from the beginning thru the end, and offered me a very generous value for my trade-in equipment.
My new camera just arrived yesterday. I am now diving into learning about this brand and model and could not be happier from my recent experiences with Green Mountain Camera. It is with no hesitation that I wholeheartedly recommend all potential buyers of photographic equipment and services to Tessa K Ferrario at Green Mountain Camera. They have become my “go to” place for all my photography related needs. Thank you Tessa!...
Read moreI visited this place for the first time today to ask some questions about eclipse photography. I am a photographer and have been for 20+ years, but I've never had a chance to photograph an eclipse. Before I was even able to ask my question, the person behind the counter cut me off with a "we're sold out" (speaking about lens filters). While I did want to ask about filters, I also wanted to know if they had any ideas as alternatives (assuming that most places would be sold out so close to eclipse time). The person was extremely rude, kept cutting me off without letting me ask my questions, and seemed extremely dismissive of me even being in the store. I am very unlikely to ever visit this store again and I recommend not speaking to potential customers this way. Even if you do not have the product that someone is looking for, you can still be polite and understanding. It does not take a lot to simply be a...
