Worst customer service ever. I was attempting to grab and purchase a 36x36 canvas that was on the TOP of the shelf. I tried to look for some help, but there was no one around. Last time I was looking for help, I waited for 10 minutes at the "help button" before finding someone in the store to help out, and the worker just told me to grab it myself. So I thought I would climb the ladder to grab it. When I was taking it out, the rest of the canvas was falling on me, and a young worker suddenly popped up and said: "Do you work here?". Obviously, without a uniform, I of course do not work here. I told her that there was no one here to help. She then said :"You really should have asked for some help." then WALKED away without attempting to help, while all the canvases were just about to fall. The canvases then actually fell after I took a canvas out (without any damages), and then she RAN out of the storage room, gave me a look, and then took the ladder away and said: "We are not doing this". The canvases were just on the side of the floor, and she didn't even attempt on organizing or asking if everything was okay. I am just so frustrated and upset that a Michaels' worker not only didn't help me with anything, but also acted so coldly when a person is in need for help. I really wish Michaels' would have hired people who are actually useful and helpful, instead of this person who clearly did not care about her job or helping others. P.S.: Also, I am attempting to understand why the large canvases are located on the TOP of the shelf, while all the small ones are...
Read moreI called Michaels to see if they had silk embroidery ribbon, and was very excited when they told me that they had it in stock. I made sure to explain to them that I was looking for specifically silk ribbon, and not cotton floss over the phone. When I got there three separate clerks directed me to the embroidery floss. After speaking to a manager it was established that they didn't in fact carry what I was looking for. I explained to the manager that I was very upset because I clearly explained what I was looking for over the phone because I live an hour away and didn't want to drive two hours for nothing. The manager didn't even offer me a coupon or anything for my trouble.
I decided to make the best of it and poke around for anything else I may need or want. I was thoroughly disappointed by the selection. This is a great store if you're looking to make someone a cheap, ugly sweater they'll never wear, hot glue some some tacky fake flowers to some plastic nonsense, or make other gifts that no one will ever want.
Serious crafters value their time and buy the best possible materials. This store is more for the bored grandmother. If you're going to make something, make something truly nice. Don't waste your time shopping for materials...
Read moreNot one to leave reviews because I feel it is immature and better to be the bigger person however, my experience here recently was very unsettling. I came in looking for markers and a coloring book. I was very successful finding the markers I needed but when it came to the coloring book I was struggling. I went to the front desk and asked for assistance and she pointed me in the right direction but then changed her mind and told me to come back another day because they were closing in 5 minutes. Mind you I live in barre and quite literally needed one thing and i knew exactly where it was because she told me. I thought that was a little rude and aggravating because I had been looking everywhere. I proceeded to at least purchase my markers and the lady began giving me a hard time because the tag was ripped off the top of the package and told me that next time i ever want to come in, I need to get an associate to take the security tag before “i go and start grabbing stuff.” I thought this was very rude because I was not in the known of this. This was an honest mistake on my part. Overall just a unpleasant experience. Maybe the lady was having a bad day but no excuse for being unpleasant to people patronizing the business...
