Went to the south Portland store in April with my husband and groomsmen for our August wedding. My husband purchased a suit, and we rented 4 suits and 2 suits for ring bearers. Called the week before the wedding as we had heard a few of the guys had picked up their suits. Was told by a salesperson "you have my word they will be her Thursday morning by 1030am". Our wedding was the following Saturday and we were leaving town on Friday morning, so the suits arriving on Thursday morning, no big deal right?? WRONG!!!!!! Arrived Thursday morning to pick up my brother and the grooms brothers suits. I was then told they never ordered my brothers suit (he was the one walking me down the aisle, but didn't have a suit). Men's Wearhouses solution to this was that they would over night suits to us. As a result I was late for set up for the rehearsal dinner as we had to wait around for suits that had been ordered months in advance. Keep in mind this is all happening a day before our wedding, and our venue was several hours away from South Portland. So Friday morning my brother went to pick everything up. While there the staff pulled out everything to show him that all the items were there. HOWEVER, they didn't return everything to the bag and I had the pleasure of finding out that my groomsmen were missing bow ties, etc 10 minutes before I walked down the aisle. We were absolutely furious! Once the wedding was over I called Men's Wearhouse to express how upset we all were that we couldn't leave town when we were all suppose to, and they still didn't get us all of our rented items, due to their repeated errors and poor service. I requested to speak to a manager and was place on the phone with Michael. These were some of the most obnoxious, unbearable conversations of my life; between all of Michael's "ahhhhs" and "ummmms", it became increasing clear to me that he had no idea what he was talking about, nor did he know how to work the computer system. After several phone calls and 5 days, I know get to wait 7-10 business for a refund check in the mail for ONE SUIT!!!! If we ever find ourselves in need of suit or tux rentals again we will absolutely be going elsewhere. And I strongly encourage any other bridal parties out there, that if you want your bridal party to have all of their rented items prior to your wedding day, go elsewhere to rent!!! Please learn from our experience! It was the most awful feeling in the world to hear right before the ceremony that Men's Wearhouse had still screwed up the order and my wedding party...
Read moreWalked in off the street Friday night to look for a suit for a wedding I'm officiating in Florida in March. I was somewhat dreading this but the Groom and Groomsmen got their suits there so I wanted something that "fit in" and was going to look right as I'm not really sure of the styles and sizes and stuff and I recently lost 30 pounds over the past year so everything about this was kind of new. Armed with a picture of the suits they got I walked in and was immediately noticed and then helped by the man at the desk. I explained the situation and showed him the picture and basically said "What do you think I should do." I was AMAZED at how easy the rest of that evening went!! He knew exactly what the suits in the picture were and what would look good with them from my position as the officiant without being too much or too little of anything. He knew about the fabric, the colors, the sizing and talked to me in a way I could understand and follow that made sense- it was awesome. He wasn't pushy or trying to upsell me on the most expensive options, which I was worried about initially. The shirt we eventually landed on was on clearance even! I ended up with a suit, tie, and shirt for the wedding that I am really happy with. This is where went above and beyond- he showed me the Clearance area that is ALWAYS there. I had no idea this existed and was in every section of the store (suits, shirts, shoes, jackets, etc.) There was also a deal of buy 2 clearance items and get 1 free- WHHAAATTT?? Picked out a few other things that were SUPER affordable ($14.99 long sleeve polo, $25.00 pants...) I'm a medium and I am finding that clearance sections typically have a lot of super small or super large options but not a lot in-between but there were some great times in every size that I could see. It turns out, the guy helping me, His name is Ray, is the store manager! Which makes sense why this guy knew SO MUCH about everything in that store and pertaining to anything in that store!! So I lucked out, I did notice another, older than Ray, Gentleman in the store that night who looked like he would have been equally as helpful based on how he interacted with the people there. I'm really happy with how it all worked out and cant wait for the wedding! Ill be back the next time I need something or just maybe want to check out any good deals on clearance- it's worth...
Read moreI wish I could leave negative stars. We had 10 groomsman in our party and initially my husband and I came in to pick out items. We stood around without assistance for over an hour. Employees kept asking if we were being helped, we'd say no, they'd apologize and said they'd get someone to work with us. No one ever did. We then came back a second time early in the morning when it wasn't busy. Got everything squared away and then came back to finalize one more time and they couldn't find any of the paperwork. They lost all the groomsman information and everything we picked out. We set it all up once more, picked it all out again, working with the store manger this time, and left with the belief it had all been put in the computer. Our groomsman went to go get their suits and the best man was told he wasn't part of the wedding party. He and several others paid more for their suits and had no idea. Then our best man went to pick up his suit and they had given it to someone else. So he had to get a new one tailored asap. They never ordered the vest that they had said to our faces was already on it's way to our house. So then we had to express ship it and get it tailored, picking it up 1 week before the wedding. My husband's shirt was tailored wrong and he couldn't move his arms. The shirt ripped because it was too tight. Then we showed up after they promised to refund the shirt and give us a new one. But we are here today to pick up this "free" shirt that he was supposedly to have had tailored and they lost the shirt. So here we are waiting over an hour again to have another one marked up for tailoring and if my husband didn't want to save $25 in tailoring we would not still be here. All in all, if you plan to still use this company after all these terrible reviews, make sure you have all day, lots of patience and lots of time available to make trips...
