We purchased a new sleighbed at Hank's Furniture in Spanish Fort on December 6, 2024.
We expected delivery no later than January 16. On December 26, we went to the store and asked if there were any updates on the delivery date. Of course, we expected a delay, and yes, there was one; the side rails would not be available on time.
They apologized, stating that the furniture would not arrive in Alabama until mid-January, so delivery would be by the 20th.
However, there was no delivery on the 20th, 22nd, or 24th. We went back to the store, and they said it would be delivered by January 30, but again, there was no delivery.
We are now in the second week of February, and the bed was delivered, but it was broken. The bunky boards (boards place between the slats and the mattress on a sleigh-bed) we paid extra for them, they looked like they were taken from a dumpster, and they didn't have the screws to hold the slats in place. The side rail didn't sit properly in the headboard or footboard.
Between January 30 and today, February 21, we have made over 52 calls to Hank's Spanish Fort, Hank's Corporate in Arkansas, and the delivery crew.
Well, it is now February 21, and we still haven't received the bunky boards. The bed is not completely delivered. I called Hanks corporate in Arkansas at 1:33 speaking with Lauren, she apologized profusely but her hands are tied, there is nothing they can do, each store is different, and apologized once more.
Justin from Spanish Fort called at 1:49 pm to tell us that the boards were in and would be delivered today, promising to take care of the screws and repairs as well. He promised they would be delivered today!!
I didn't hear from them, so I started calling to get an estimated time - only to be a waste of my time.
I called every hour since 5:30 and have spoken to Steve, Justin, and David. All three guaranteed that the boards would be delivered today!! I made my last call at 6:30 speaking with David Mrs. Dillard, please be patient one more time.'
Waiting patiently, impatiently I called again at 7:30, 7:45 there was still no answer. Of course, they're closed at 8 pm.
It's now 9 pm, and the store is closed!!!
How a company pushes its employees to lie, fib, to their customers, and shameful that your employees feel they have to lie.
Be honest its not that hard to say “I don’t know”, I’ll get back with you”

I went to the store in the first week of October and was in need of a dining room table, a kitchen table and matching chairs for both. I clearly told the salesman that I needed these before Thanksgiving and that I would not want anything if it didn't get there before then. I was told that wouldn't be an issue. A few days before I was expecting my delivery, I call the store to ask for an exact delivery date. The salesman I had dealt with before was helping other customers and I was told he would call me back. He didn't. I called 4 days in a row, sent a couple emails but didn't get any response. On day 4, I finally got a call back from a different salesman, saying my delivery won't be there until February. I proceed to tell them to cancel my entire order. 10 min later, the original salesman finally calls me back saying I will get a partial delivery within 2 days, the day before Thanksiving, before lunch time. After waiting at home all day, the delivery came at 9:15 PM, I know had my 2 tables but no chairs. I then followed up with the store every other week to find out when the chairs would come. I would call, email, go to the store in person, and always got either conflicting answers or promises that weren't kept. I would have expected that a customer who spent close to $5,000 at the store would be treated better. I will never go back there and would recommend everyone against doing business...
Read moreFirst time buying experience and it was horrible. It seems as if it is a sales driven environment, with an extreme deprivation of customer relation and communication. Never again.
Update: Please buy from another store location and not this one. I understand no business is perfect but the way they handle a paying customer is disgusting.
Bedroom furniture ended up breaking (the bed) 4 days after delivery. I sent an email to the manager, no one responded to the email, nor did anyone call me. I finally called and ended up speaking with the same person I had the bad experience with in the beginning. I was told it would take another 3 weeks for the part to come in and that I should go to Home Depot for the broken bed pieces I needed. I waited 4 weeks, no one called and still no response to the initial email. I called again after waiting 4 weeks, and was told I would have to wait 2 more weeks, and spoke with someone who claimed to be a manager. I waited 2 more weeks, no one called and still no response to the original email. I called again after waiting 2 weeks and they tell me I have to wait one more day. Not one person has called and no one has responded to the orgianaly email I sent about the issues I've been experiencing.
